Posted by Mr Gardoki Is worth playing but not worth buying a console for IMO.
I mean how many individual games are ever worth that?

The game has a lot of content but when compared to the ridiculousness of that statement, it comes up short.
IMO that statement means they will release nothing but expansions without messing with core system of the game. So there won't be any graphical changes or some major overhaul between releases

So just like every other DLC?

I'm having a great time, but I did start the official thread for the game so my opinion maybe moot.
But in all seriousness, it has apparently made back its 500 million in the first week so that's a positive. Also I had questions about how future content would be released and it seems bungie may handle it like a mmo with weekly and monthly events/releases.
What I'm really trying to say is...I want to hear your silky voice over my xbone headset stout

I'd love to see the marketing budget for this one. It was all over the place.

I wouldn't call it a flop, but it's basically Titanfall.

Depends on the person but for me Zelda is.
As for more content coming, this is something that bothers me. If you feel like there was a serious lack of content but are willing to shell out $30 more in expansions to get as much as you want, that's a bad value. You then turned it into a $90 game to get enough content. I'm not against DLC but if the base game is shallow then I don't want to bail them out by giving them more money to make it what it should have already been. I'm still playing through so I reserve my judgement for the time being, just something to keep in mind.

I was browsing the steam store today and the season pass for Advanced Warfare is $50,
Isn't the COD season pass always $50?

I'm assuming the expansions that will take the place of a whole new game so they will be bigger than the typical dlc. Most likely the expansions will create a few new zones, strikes, raids, lvl cap like wow and I'm sure they will release smaller dlc inbetween expansions to make as much money as possible

So is Destiny still the Borderlands killer some people said it would be?

No and it isn't as good as it either.
I love how the game plays and it is very enjoyable when playing with friends, so it will keep me occupied for a while.
My issues are this:
- The story missions are pretty much identical
- The story itself just feels like bad sic-fi
- The ships serve no purpose outside of loading screens
- There just feels like there is a lack of content there and this things is going to be DLC heavy. There are only 5 fricking planets to explore.
- The bosses not dropping any loot is so depressing.
- I think they just transferred all of the enemy AI to Destiny over from Halo
I still think have faith in Bungie to keep improving it and I am going to keep playing.
My worry is that once a bunch of other games come out am I really going to want to come back to it.

I have a good time playing it with friends but if a better shooter is released I will have no problem setting it down.

I'm really liking the game.

I agree with a lot if what RTR posted.
- ships are useless. They should have offer bonuses.
- bosses should drop items.
- class specific items should offer bonuses.
- one of the two rewards given for strikes or crucible should be tied to how well you played. I understand one being random, but both being random is pointless.

2014 has been a terrible year for gaming
Huge Diablo 3 patch that was basically a new game
ArcheAge just released, best mmo released in nearly 10 years
CS: Global Offensive took off and is the best competitive fps in many many years
Divinity: Original Sin.. great RPG game thats an excellent throwback
Some note worthy 2014 developments. 2014 hasn't had much quantity.. but as far as quality goes, I've been pleased.

New generations are slow like this in the first year but usually are big the next year. 2015 has a lot of good looking titles so I suspect it will follow the pattern.
