Secret of Mana 3D remake coming to PS4/Vita/Steam Feb 18th

You know they bought the exclusive to this. I hate the practice and everything it has done to the VG industry. Being on Vita means it could have hit everything maybe even tablets.

I hate exclusives as much as the next person, but wot u mean?
It's on 2 major platforms. Will probably come to switch down the road. Xbox just doesn't have the support for JRPG's for a port.

Has done to the VG industry? Exclusives have been around forever and they are good and bad for the consumer. Who knows if the game ever gets done if Sony doesn't help them produce it?

Exclusives, Exclusive DLC, having to own all systems if you like a particular series. In this instance, it originally appeared on Nintendo devices, and now they are excluding Nintendo devices. Same thing happened in reverse, which I didn't like then either, when nintendo bought exclusive rights to RE4 (which then went back to Sony as well a year later).
It just sucks for the consumer, there is no good effect of 3rd party exclusivity outside of technology limitations. That's it. When there aren't limitations to something being on a system, it supremely sucks if it doesn't, especially with a well loved property like this.

You're wrong, as usual about me. I've always disliked third party exclusive. I didn't like it when RE4 came on the GC first (I had both the PS2 and GC and would have rather it on the PS2 with my other RE games). I disliked it when they delayed Rayman Legends as a WiiU launch title to put it on other consoles, then complained when it didn't sell as well. And so forth.
Exclusive DLC (and DLC in general) is the entire reason that both Injustice 2 and MvC3 have fallen off of my to buy list.
The whole Street Fighter debacle. I mean V ended up pretty bad but still. Wasn't impressed by the Tomb Raider exclusivity in response. Yeah I bought the game, but I wasn't excited that a normally third party game that is on all platforms was suddenly on one. I know it sucks when that happens in reverse.
Keeping a game from other players who are probably as or more interested than you or me, for no reason outside of a written check, isn't fun for anyone. And when it's something like this with nostalgia and history it's doubly worse
And Sony have perfect this technique over the year - hence the F Sony. They always do it with well loved properties. FF, SF V, and now SoM.

Exactly.
I mean, have fun with it, and I hope it comes to other platforms later, but still F Sony. They fuel the whole thing constantly buying nostalgia.
Heck, I hate that Nintendo is pulling off the timed exclusive now with VC vs. the SNES Classic. I was mildly interested in one, but what does Nintendo want me to do? Buy their Switch, then buy their SNES Classic, then buy all of there VC content....probably again...later. Sorry Nintendo, not doing that.
Same thing. Sony wants to buy things I've liked and wanted for a long time - FF, SF, SoM -and buy their platform just for that. Again, not doing that. If I was a huge Unchartered fan, it makes sense. But we should all be able to at least play the third party games that we like and that can be played on our consoles of choice.
