Pretty sure they’ve obviously seen it lol the red Barret friendship running joke and reds nose being a huge factor even though it’s played for laughs in machinabridged are in the game

I just want to hear a take of Britt Baron voicing the angry combative Tifa from TFS, Suzie Yeung singing "we're all going to the Godl Saucer" or John Eric Bentley saying, "now remember, don't frick up"

SHOULDER DEEP, CLOUD!!

So in between making my way through hard mode (just beat terror of the deep so that’s him the rock boss rude Elena and the zolum down, rock guy and Rude Elena I one shot the Zolum killed be 5 times before I put fire elemental linked on two peoples armor and terror of the deep has a fully rebuilt moveset and AI which is way more aggressive and one shots Aerith if you’re using her) I’ve been testing out scenes in different chapters with my relationships higher or different and there’s a remarkable amount of content that’s actually very vital to the plot and some that’s just character building many will miss and not know.

For instance one is in Johnny’s hotel in costa del soul you’ll always hear a convo between Aerith and Red when you get there the first time and eves drop. But if you have both st the maxed out big blue mega happy face they go on to speak about how they in fact both could see the future in part one but the whisper slowly stripped it away from them and Aerith has this feeling about something she must do but doesn’t know what it is only it fills her with dread and fleeting hope simultaneously. Man this game is so amazing

Opinions for anyone who has one; do you think weapons looked better in remake or rebirth? Most specifically cloud since his and Barrerts are the most obvious. Imo they both had better visual designs in Remake. Yuffies look much better but that’s almost an auto win considering her DLC had 3 weapons, 1 of which she starts Rebirth with, and had a 4th weapon you could buy for 10$ for a 2 hour dlc.

Suzie Yeung is going to be asked to sing "Bored Descendant of Shinobi" for the rest of her life.

I liked Cloud's swords better in Remake for sure. But I did like some of the ones in Rebirth, especially the last one

Yeah replaying chapters for different outcomes, getting 88 treasures for Johnny so I can play one wing angel on the piano, and playing on hard mode and trying to do the brutal and legendary VRs I’ve noticed some of the really fine details in the less noticeable weapons. Specifically Reds, Caits, and Tifas. I still think Clouds swords compared look like shite in rebirth. The hardedge equivalent which was iconic and your highest attack weapon looks like a huge saw. The final sword looks pretty cool I guess but the stinger in remake is better. The purple sword is probably the best sword in the game as it gets reprieve but looking at that weird glow for too long annoys me. The only 2 designs I legit like are the second one you get that looks the most like an actual sword and teaches your the thunderfirebolt whatever move and the worst sword in the game by far since it has 4 materia slots max. Can’t recall it’s name but it’s the one you get infinity’s edge from its really cool. I think everyone else’s are at worse equal with Barret or better for all else

ETA it’s the crystal sword. And sleek saber is the other one and imo the best looking one. It’s also probably the second best sword to use too if you don’t want reprieve (it’s not really necessary you can cast reraise on yourself for 35mp or summon Phoenix) and use two of its 4 slots to up your ATB 10% faster each so 20% total. It’s basically a must use for the Legendary where cloud fights alone.

I applaud you for going for the full treasures and hard mode stuff On Remake, I played the game first on PS4 and then waited for PC/Intergrade to do "everything", and I think I have the same plan this time. I finished everything I wanted to do in the game with about 90 hours played and I still have 4 trophies left :

-Hard mode all chapters
-All VR missions complete
-All Johnny Hotel items
-Sephiroth 3d brawler (frick that minigame)

I figured by the time the PC release rolls around there will be better strategies for Hard Mode and some of the brutal and legendary stuff. I didn't have a hard time with that much of the game, but I heard about a few fights in the VR taking people over an hour for an attempt, plus the thought of doing Rufus in Hard mode made me sick, so I'm just gonna wait

I cheated the Sephiroth thing hard cheese. You can pause right when his hand starts to come back unpause and input the button. You can also have on the internet in front of you what each of his 4 different heat up combos are and they all open with a different move so you can do it without pausing knowing what’s to come. That’s how I got that 1 lol. Only things I still have left are the last 2 chapters on hard mode, that god damn flying Chocobo mini game in cosmo I still need 1st place on the third course, I still need Aerith cactuar crunch on hard hers are way more ridiculous than Yuffies imo, and for the legendary solo bouts that really really insist you know how to play each character I have completed Cloud, Yuffie, Red, Tifa, and Barret. Aeriths is fricking brutal because she’s so slow and Cait sith is hard to get damage going quickly I tried using his random slots near the top of his folios for a while but no Lady Luck for me. Then the brutals which you get 3 people sometimes it’s two teams of 3 into 10 rounds I still have the final one to beat where you team up with Sephiroth and just Cloud. I just beat the one before that an hour or so ago where it’s just Cloud and Zach vs all summons then a VR created Sephiroth that’s completely new from any other encounter with him in the game. New moves, new AI, new phase, etc

Eta; yeah Rufus took me over an hour because there’s no Mp refill spill over from Rude to Elena to him for Cloud on hard but you can use the bench to full heal and change your set up. The way I ended up eventually getting it done is being long and boringly slow. I never cast anything with cloud against rude and Alena had Aerith magnify heal and soul drain if she needs mp and Yuffie buffing debuffing with 5 star prayer in cloud and lightning element on the weapon for Elena because poison destroys rude.

Then for Rufus I filled up on maxed out steadfast block, atb stagger, atb skill, atb boost, skill master, precision defense, used chakra to heal but had a a curaga if needed but I used all my Mp buffing me and debuffing him. Used Phoenix for reraise which I actually needed cuz dark star killed me the run I ended up winning. The things I imagine most people don’t bother with too much on normal runs because I don’t myself on hard are things like steadfast block, atb boost, skill master, etc. Also the accessory that you get for finding the 4 pirate treasures is a god send on Rufus and most fights. It sticks into automatic refocus state every time you do 5 separate AtB commands. It’s the second best beyond either the one that starts you at limit level 3 or obviously the gotterdung which opens you fill full limit break and gradually builds it but that’s locked behind the final legendary VR

How do you think Midgar's 7th Infantry will come into play in the finale?

-Crew of the Highwind?
-Saving Tifa in Junon?
-Evacuation of Midgar?
-Submarine?

Is the Commander Elena's older sister (Emma, AKA "Shotgun") as some are speculating?

Beat the game a few days ago. Clocked in at around 125 or so hours and I loved almost every minute of it. To say Chadley calling you 500 times like some fricking stalker was annoying is an understatement.

I've been stuck at the final phase of the last boss for 4 hours. I get his HP down to 10% and I fail the DPS check at the end every single time.

I guess I'm supposed to stagger him but it's almost impossible to hit him because of all the knockback.

Just dodge to the right, attack and repeat. You’ll circle around him ahead of that beam and that shite won’t even touch you

I just beat the game today. This fight got me a couple of times, but I ended beating that last phase by holding onto Cloud's limit (which I had at level 3 thanks to the enhanced accessory that automatically maxes out the limit level) until that final moment. I also held Aerith's limit for the first attack that reduces you to 1.

As to the game, I loved it. I'm still digesting the ending, It's definitely not as heartbreaking as in the original, but that's intended I think, but I can see people being mad about it.

That's offset by what they did with Barrett and Dyne, how they handled the Nibelheim massacre, and Zack and Biggs.

I think certain parts of the finale will be as gutwrenching as possible:

-Sephiroth breaking Cloud at the crater
-Cloud and Tifa in the Lifestream (If Square is smart, they will record this session with Cody Christian and Britt Baron in the same room)
-Vincent and Lucrecia
-Yuffie and Godo in Wutai/Yuffie telling Sonon's family what happened
-Reeve telling Elmyra what happened to Aerith
-Cid and Shera
-Nanaki seeing Bugenhagen die
-The ending

If you think about it, it's almost more heartbreaking. Cloud actually saved Aerith, but she deliberately used HER (the white ones) whispers to "overturn the call". Aerith knew what had to be done and wouldn't let Cloud save her.

Notice that, when you fight Jenova Lifebringer that everyone in the party besides Cloud is so enraged that their limits automatically activate.

I noticed the limits but hadn't connected the dots to them being enraged. Good catch there!

And after rewatching the ending, and thinking about what comes next, they are definitely going to go hard on breaking Cloud. During the scene where Aerith is stabbed, you see flashes of the prime timeline and Cloud's "Aerith is gone" speech, but the main focus is on the branched timeline where he saved Aerith. Then at the end Cloud can see the light in the sky but everyone else can't, meaning that timeline is doomed. I think we'll get the whole speech from the prime timeline and that alternate timeline ending when Cloud's will is broken by Sephiroth in the Northern Crater.

I think they'll go a step further and have Cloud in black robes the second he breaks with a "0" on his left shoulder.
