The PS3 launched at $599. Sony's justification was blu-ray and the cell technology driving up the price. They don't have those excuses this time around.

The highest rumored price tag anyone has seen is $499.

PS4 will release in October and cost £300, according to a newspaper interview with Sony gaming CEO Andrew House.

$399 was the rumored price from the get go, and they've stuck with it.

$454 is approximate for todays exchange rate and it's not unheard of to drop the price $50 for the US market.

$399 in the US seems right.
