Project Scorpio - New Console, Same Uncertainty from MS

If MicroSoft Doesn't Understand Project Scorpio, How Can We?
Sounds like the announcement of the Scorpio may be screwed up just as bad as the announcement of the One. Nobody from MS on the same page, different people contradicting each other, and at least once a person contradicting their self. Will MS ever learn their lesson?
I have read other articles that put forth another idea that to me holds water. The announcement of Project Scorpio, especially this early (it doesn't release for another one and a half years), is a point blank admission by MS that there is no console war right now; that they got their asses handed to them by Sony.

Seemed pretty simple to me. They announced specs and showed the motherboard. How are people confused?

Everyone but spencer needs to shut up. He made one bad interview where he didn't phrase it correctly but other than that he has been very clear. This is nothing like the one reveal though. This is a year out and details are not out. The one was being fricked during launch.

Which he corrected within the same interview

They just need to tell everyone that spencer is the only point of contact for now I've never heard of some of those other people.

Let's touch on this fanboy crap. Yes ps4 is dominating but the one is ahead of 360 sales at this point so it is doing well. That's amazing considering the disaster people like spencer walked into. They are changing strategies which is awesome. I think both consoles entered the market with intention of releasing upgrades at some point and the neo is a good example of that. They designed them with the ability to upgrade at some time.
Also it's time to drop the console war crap. Spencer and Sony execs talk about playing each other's game all the time. Yes they are competing in business but they seem more civil than the fans.

Came in expecting to lash out at MS for being idiots yet again, but came away thinking that article is a stretch.
Maybe it's just me

Microsoft is damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Do you enjoy trying to instigate fanboy nonsense?

I love their direction right now. They just need to get the games and I'll get one.

This is where I am with Microsoft, got to bring the games for me to get Scorpio. If it's going to be like this gen I'll just sit it out if they continue to not release exclusives. I don't really have a need for one with all of their games coming to PC now.

They've already got you then....
I don't understand why some people don't get this.

They have released exclusives, just not what you want. It's the same for me. Sony hasn't exactly been quick with theirs either.

So I buy one game from them a year instead of 4 or 5 and a system each generation. I don't think Microsoft plans to thrive off of people like me, I know the share holders don't.

They don't make their money of console sales. If they were so damn worried about pushing console sales they wouldn't be using this whole play anywhere thing with all of their exclusive titles coming to PC too. It doesn't matter if you are playing on a Xbox or a PC it is a win for them.
Plus here is the sneaky long play....if you spend 5 years buying a ton of their games on PC, you may be swayed to buy the console that gives you access to that entire library. Crazy right?
eta: And most people who aren't weird fan boys will definitely buy more than one exclusive title from them, especially now that they are all coming to PC

What is there not to understand? Both microsoft and sony released a shitty console that was obsolete on launch day. I bought both. Sold both because they sucked and I was not happy about it.
At least microsoft appears committed to a decent upgrade. Sony's option feels like a stopgap.
Needless to say, I wont buy either on launch day, gonna wait and see.

I think the One S and Scorpio prove they are, they played their whole hand two years out to try and stop the bleeding.

Or they are working on continuing to build their entire gaming ecosystem. You are just being dense right now.
