Not all but most. Remember last year they focused during e3 on 2015 games and used gamescom for future after that.

Crackdown wasn't even shown this year tell us it's probably very far out. Scale bound is 2017 and right now projected for early 2017 so it makes sense.

Isn't halo 5 the one that just game out?
Those other announcements were a couple of years back before they changed their strategy for showing games. This has been the last couple of years, not always.

You guys are making me miss the Stout vs. UHog throw downs.

E3 was not that great this year for either. Maybe Gamescon will be better?

I thought it was the best e3 for Sony since maybe the launch year

Totally.

They owned E3 for what I can gather. All interesting titles outside of Zelda and Pokemon came from Sony conference.

Edt: ..Dishonored 2 also.

I would place it Sony > MSFT for this E3 as well. The problem was Sony was still mythical. A lot of that stuff is a long ways off, if it ever happens. Loved the symphony and just showing games though.

Microsoft had some extra talking and weird camera angles. Games shown were OK, not as awesome as last year.

Yes ps4 is dominating but the one is ahead of 360 sales at this point so it is doing well.

It's amazing how people think that if one console outsells another by 10-15% that the one with fewer sales is a flop, and 'lost'. If it made a profit over it's life cycle (incl licensing fees) then that's a huge deal.

Ok a year and a half, again nobody does this other than maybe Sega back in the day and I can't even remember.

This scorpio thing really reminds me of the Saturn for some reason.

In terms of power, it really seems like it should be a new console, but it's actually xbox one point five. The fact that it's so powerful* means that they're going to take a big loss for a console that has practically no AAA titles that aren't close to straight ports, wasting it's graphical advantage. It's probably not going to play 4k games well until developers have really got to grips with it, that might be xmas 2018 or later.

*Leaving aside the fact that any graphics statistic pushed by MS or Sony is probably bullshite, PS2 was supposed to be able to handle 66m polygons per second but couldn't even do anti-aliasing, lol. Also I'm assuming a AAA title has a 2-2.5 year development time from concept to product in store.

Perhaps it'll be easy for devs to port 4k games over from PC next year, it's all MS on the PC after all.

Considering all games will run on Scorpio and current one Xbox isn't really launching a generation either.

I thought they said Scorpio will run all Xbox One games but I dont recall anyone saying all Scorpio games will run on the Xbox One. There maybe some cross compatible games but I bet by 2020 most games coming out the Scorpio wont run on the Xbox One.

As of now all games are for xbox one. Obviously down the line support will have to drop for ps4 and one but we don't know when that will be. My guess it they will drop support when they launch a new generation/upgraded console.

Phil said there will be no Scorpio exclusives on the Giant Bomb interview. He and the Oculus Rift guys have all but confirmed the Rift will be on Scorpio so I'd assume those games will be sort of exclusive since the rift won't work on the One/S.

So I guess I am confused on the games thing. Are all non-VR exclusives coming to both the original Xbone and Scorpio for the rest of time? I think it was suggested that they would be doing setting levels, like PC. Is that the case?

Yeah there is all that talk about wanting to make every thing forward and backwards compatible with UWP going forward, but there has to be an eventual stopping point right?

Yeah all non-VR games will have to run on One, S, and Scorpio. Surely there will be graphic settings like on PC.

Eventually they will have to cut it off , my guess is around the same time you would have been launching next gen however that works.

I agree with you for the most part but this isn't some 10-15% gap. PS4 has pushed almost double the amount at this point..

PS4 is over 40 million now, which is faster than even the PS2 was at this point in the life cycle.

Microsoft has not announced it's sales for good reason but it has been reported they they are around 20 mill worldwide.

That is a number that does effect the landscape going into the future, regardless of them making good profit now.
