I have to say I've become all of a sudden pretty excited for this. I got to demo it yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised at the immersion it gave me. I was going back and forth whether to get this, vive, oculus, etc but decided on this.

Sony will have the best gaming focused VR and have exclusive titles I think the PC based ones will miss out of ala Final Fantasy, Batman, Star Wars, etc.

Anyone else picking it up?

The only thing that annoys me is that I have a feeling the get the best experience you will need the PS4Pro and I don't really want to shell out another $400 for it. I wonder if Sony will fully support the VR with the regular PS4, and then when I can save up enough funds in a few months I will grab the pro....which would then make me want a 4K TV

I wasn't really excited about PS VR until I demoed it. I played Job Simulator and Playstation Worlds. I think once people get it in their hands and gamestop demos it it will catch fire. I felt that same feeling as with the jump to 3D games around the time the n64, psOne, and Saturn came out. It's just very breathtaking the first time you put it on.

I think I'm one of the few on here who is actually excited about VR, but if I'm getting one it will be on PC. The option to mod older games with VR support far outweighs any potential exclusives the PC might miss out on. Of course, VR on PC is a much larger investment which is why I'm not getting one any time soon either.

This is my main reason for going with PSVR first. The entry will only be $500, and it can act as an entry level VR setup. If it really takes off then I can build the ultimate PC rig specifically for VR for around $2000.

It makes sense, I'm just content waiting on the sidelines until prices drop and some game mechanics get a bit more standardized. In the same way that developers had to figure out the best way to control FPS's and 3rd person action games in polygonal 3D titles back in the late 90's / early 2000's, VR will go through some of the same growing pains.

Of course, people like me waiting for all of that to settle and get cheaper might be the exact thing that spells doom for VR, but we'll see. I think the tech has enough applications, especially outside of gaming, to eventually thrive.

I'm normally excited and interested in all things gaming but I have zero interest in VR and none of it even looks exciting to me.

Sony continues to hitch their horse to the wrong wagon.

You haven't lived til you teabagged someone in Onward, lol.

Porn is a weird and creepy experience. VR is pretty damn fun, I love the google painting app.

I'd like to have one for free. I don't see myself buying one for home use any time soon but I might start putting the bug in the boss' ear and get some for office use in the next year.

I'll wait a year or two until the price drops and the VR game catalog grows.
