I feel you. I'm at the final battle at around 90 hours. Honestly it didn't feel like I was playing that long. It was more like there were times I had thought I only played liked 3 or 4 hours, but in reality it was like 10-12

I don't even understand how that's possible unless you just left the game running for a while. Hell, I left mine up running on multiple occasions and my final time was 92:23

As somebody who has never played a Persona, help me out. without spoilers
So I am at the point where time starts moving depending on my choices of what I do. When you have the option to do the first palace.
Should I be doing things around the town or just go straight to the palace?
If you complete the palace does your days fast forward to the due date on that?

Yeah I'm at 45 hours and just about to beat palace 3, lot of grinding and leaving the game running on my playthrough though. Today I'm shooting to finishes 3 and 4.

It's mainly from grinding and strategizing what I want to do for the next several days. I try to get an idea of what's going to be available over the next 2 weeks and plan out how and when I should target confidants, improve my stats, go through a palace, or mementos requests.

It's best to maximize your time around town until you come to a day that doesn't have any good time options. Getting those social links up is essential. It's most efficient to try and clear as much as possible in a single go in the dungeons to give yourself extra days to do stuff.

Should you spend time with someone even if it's not time for your bond to level up?

Sometimes you have to spend time with someone to get enough points for a rank up event. So yes it's worth it. This is mainly necessary for later levels. Always make sure you have a matching persona.

It depends. There are times where you have to spend time with someone in order to get enough affection to be able to level up. The choices you may and you having their matching persona type are very important.
If someone is maxed out/you can't gain affection, then there's no gain to spending time with them. Those are usually late game decisions though.

From what I've read, the only difference is in load times.

So if I beat the dungeon, I will still have all of these days to do other things on my calendar?
It won't say fast forward for story reasons?
The story will just pick up when I get to that date?

I'd be very surprised if very many got PS3 version.
We do know that it looks fairly good. Obviously isn't as pretty (resolution most obviously), but it's perfectly playable.

In order to maximize your time spent, two of the more important things that you'll need to do are let yourself accumulate multiple requests in mementos before going in there, and to max your Temperance arcana as soon as possible. That will let you go out in the evenings even after going to a palace or Mementos. Although it doesn't stop Morgana from sending your arse to sleep due to story related events.

I kept "taking my time" and got to the treasure in the first palace with 2 days remaining. Not enough time left, and now have to go a week in the past. Luckily the game is fun
I was too worried about not being able to earn money and stuff after i finished the first palace so was doing all the studying, working my job, and visiting the clinic before i went. The game didn't really explain that at all

depends on which time of day you are supposed to work. in the calendar it tells you
