I can't NOT play in a chair. Even when I had mine hooked to the TV in the living room I'd bring in a chair.

I just saw an IGN link with Xbox 720 rumors that I'm going to pass on.

Hopefully I'll start a trend

I haven't read the link yet, but are there any bad rumors?

Stout probably won't start getting pissed unless the rumors are bad for MS.

- Only one version released at launch.

- Always online is true.

- XBL Gold will probably be $10 a month.

I've done enough.

This is how people get misinformed.

That was only if you buy the $299 version. It's like a financing option.

I will still wait until the 21st but Xbox is done if they do always online.

1. I will be shocked if they do this.

2. Even if they do, it is not going to kill the X-Box. Does anyone on the gaming board ever play their 360 without being online ? I don't.

That makes sense, but I don't see them sticking to the same pricing model for Live with the next gen.

Why not ? It has obviously been very successful.

No but there are still tons of areas that don't have access to high speed net. At best they might have hughes net or some crap. That will hurt sales to those people.

Me saying they are dead over this is an exaggeration but it is alienating a part of the market. Of course Xbox might not care because those people aren't buying things from the marketplace which is a huge money maker for Xbox.

I am sure they have done the numbers.

Between Live fees and the marketplace rentals and purchases they made over a billion dollars last year. That's a huge part of their business. It's not going away.

Yeah that is why I will be shocked if it has to be always online.

Mine is always connected, but what is my ISP cuts out while I'm playing? It'd suck to have to stop playing for reasons beyond my control.

I think the rumors come from another rumor that the Xbox has an optional low power state. You have the option to leave it on and online and it will automatically install updates for you as well as be ready to play without any boot up time.

I would have to speculate that this will allow you to purchase something via Xbox Live on your PC and it will auto download on the Xbox. It will encourage more people browsing the marketplace at work or on their mobile phones and hopefully translate to more sales for them.

No. I think they will just offer even more content and subscription options in Live. I think what we see now is a drop in the bucket to what's coming. They aren't going to raise the entry cost to where the real money for them is.

Exactly. This was such a huge issue for a lot of pro-Sony's, but it is the one thing I really don't get.

I think people automatically associate always online with the negatives of DRM.
