I'd go with the Asus Strix, DoUrden I believe has 2 of them.
Yep and so far they are great, very quiet and running Dragon Age Inquisition on ultra at 1440.

Those links aren't working for me (newegg mobile is the worst site ever), but any of the three would probably be fine. I originally suggested the Strix cards to Dourden because they were the cheapest non-vanilla 970s at the time.

So I got a few good deals on some upgrades over the cyber monday/black friday weeks, and just said frick it and went for the full upgrade. Just pulled the trigger on the last pieces today. Any thoughts?
I think the only things that didn't get upgraded are that PSU and the storage, which I already had.

So I just created a Windows 10 Consumer Preview bootable USB to install it, I can install this to my secondary HDD and switch the boot order in my BIOS and have no problems right? Then when I'm done checking it out switch back to my main Win7 SSD primary drive and delete Win10 on my secondary HDD.

Yep. You could also get oracle virtual box or VMware and install it on a virtual machine.

After an 11 hour day at work I decided to mess around and I am close to my limits.

I'm really liking this Windows 10 Tech Preview.

You doing a partition or virtual box?
I think I'll mess with it this weekend. Currently flashing the elixr ROM. This time around things are going much more smoothly.

Yeah it'll become extremely easy for you quickly.

Is there any reason to go from a 3770k to a 4790k or should I just wait for the next iteration in processors? Upgrade bug, I always has it.

There's no practical reason for it in terms of gaming, but I understand the upgrade bug all too well. It will give you about a 25% improvement in single-threaded performance (comparing both at stock clocks) mostly because of the higher stock multiplier and boost clock.
