If this thing is REALLY 2xfaster than a GM200-400 then shtt, its worth upgrading to Little Pascal this time around.

If half of what they are claiming is true, wow

Cannot wait for the AMD reveal now, knew the 16nm process was going to lead to nice performance gains but wooohoo for higher than expectations!
May grab that 4K monitor and a 490X afterall. Hypeeee.

shite, I've been working all day and missed the reveal. Too tired to read anything today. What's a founder's edition?
I really find the presentation of the actual product amusing though, holding up a video card on stage like it's Simba. They do it every time. It's small and far away from the audience, and all you're really looking at is a generic stock cooler, behind which could be a blank PCB for all we know.
It does make me excited for what we might see later this year or Q1 2017. It'll be some months before I'm comfortable dropping $1,500 on a GPU upgrade, so I don't have to be tempted by little Pascal like I was for Maxwell. Compared to the incremental upgrades I've done for so long, little Maxwell to whatever flagship I end up buying will be a yuuge leap in performance.

Yep
Thought we wouldn't truely be ready for 4K until Big Pascal GP200/Polaris HMB2 early next year. Guess this will be a welcomed upgrade cycle.
New monitor time for everyone!

Watch the whole keynote. nVidia pulled a fast one. I'll be sticking with my 980 Tis until Big Pascal.
It's only about 70% faster than GM204-400 and 30% faster than a 980 Ti at stock. Garbage marketing stunt saying it's x2 faster than a TITAN X, they didn't say how.

Nvidia being shitty and dishonest? No way!

Yea.
Fanboy deactivated. Hanging up the hat.

Fanboy on temporary leave I'm sure. Until big Pascal.
Still, 70% faster than GM204-400 is pretty good for anyone who doesn't already own either a 980 Ti, Titan X, or a Fury model. I was envious of GM200 when it came out because I'm so accustomed to making GPU upgrades in increments of around 15-20%.
I'm mainly worried about the price of GP100 when it debuts with HBM2. I'm guessing $799 minimum.

Before I go to the Tech Board..
Anyone here running an outdoor cam which stores to a NAS? A setup which was installed by you personally and not a company or kit/box solution.
This is what im trying to do.
1. Install one camera to watch my backyard.
2. Store all data on my current FreeNAS box.
What camera and equipment do I need to purchase? I need day/night with a minimal distance of 120ft.

Meh, Clinton, Trump, does it really matter?
There is no good candidate running. We're all gonna end up pissed off anyway at whoever is the next president.

ILike - I ended up going with an R9 380 (Gigabyte flavor) for my i7 build from last year - as an interim solution until some 8gb HBM cards come out.
Through several iterations of the Intel integrated drivers, I continued to have several crashes per week. Their own driver update utility could not even detect I had any Intel hardware installed.
Oh - and for folks who may not know - to enable Freesync you have to enable it on the monitor AND through the GPU software. Took me a day or so to figure that one out. Other than a sketchy install of the drivers and AMD software (I needed a Mulligan), that was my only other issue. My monitor has a narrow band of Freesync, anyway 45 to 60 FPS, but so far, so good. I'm about ready to install Skyrim on the new build and give it a go with some appearance mods this time around.

I have the Sapphire version of the R9 380 4 GB. They are decent 1080p cards.
Stays pretty cool and quiet. I haven't gone above 64 degrees C yet without tweaking any settings.

I have to admit, I was going to go big or go light - and it is a quiet, cool card so far.
