What about the TSR Dragonlance series? Champions of Krynn, Death Knights of Krynn, and The Dark Queen of Krynn.
Never played or heard of any of those

Maybe so, not certain what you mean by that but have a feeling.

I just didn't get into it. In my N64/Gamecube days it seems like something I ventured into but RPGs weren't my thing at that time. Yes loved FFIII but that was because I completed it with a friend.

I was claiming you suck because you didn't like a game I liked.

That's how it works, right?

ETA And Mana was SNES.

Top gun: fire at will. The cut scenes really got me into the little story they had

Frick no it wasn't GTFO

A series that would probably be pretty fun with current tech would be these:

Not understanding the Twin Snakes hate. It was better graphically, had a few extended cut scenes, and added the first person "stick 'em up" mechanic. By all accounts, it was a better version of that game.

Gameplay was too easy (literally broke many sections/boss fights unless you avoided using FPV)
Controller layout was crap
Corny cutscenes even by MGS standards
Voice acting not up to par to original
Music is awful and kills the atmosphere of MGS
Portrayal of Snake was mind-numbing

I don't "hate" the game, but it's inferior except for graphics. Twin Snakes has always been my "Don't touch me you filthy casual" game

It's been years since I played it. I'm not remembering all of those changes. They re-cast the voice actors? Are you making all of this up? I remember Kojima publicly saying he had always admired Nintendo and Miyamoto and had always wanted to work with them, hence Twin Snakes. I can't imagine he'd bastardize his own creation.

LINK

So apparently he put together a team to work with Silicon Knights, and all the main characters used the same voice actors.
