Sony's first party
Sony and Microsoft's first party barely exist compared to Nintendo's army of IP.
The PS4 and XB etc. get so much 3rd party support that they don't really need any in house original IP to keep them afloat.
Which isn't a bad thing whatsoever, I'm just saying. It's apples to oranges.

Last of us is a PS3 game that was ported to the PS4.
Uncharted games are pretty shallow on actual gameplay, they are mostly just pretty presentation.
They are both Naughty Dog games (heavy on style, little substance)
You picked bad exclusives.

Sony puts out a higher number of good games than Nintendo does.
It's been that way since 2007.

Yeah Sony has been killing it towards the end of the PS3 forward, plus they get a lot of third party exclusives as well. Persona 5 and Yakuza 0 are my favorite games I've played this year.

I'm glad BotW came out was great and another legit 3D Mario game is coming out. It's been long enough

I'm pretty sure DoUrden's steam library is bigger than the board's combined

They may own a studio that makes games, but they themselves do not.

Naughty Dog, Guerilla, Santa Monica etc. are all subsidiaries of SIE. So, yeah, Sony makes games.
Posted on 5/24/17 at 12:19 am to GatorsGators
No, they are developers signed to a contract with Sony. Sony does not own them, in the same way Microsoft did not own Bungie. Only a complete idiot would let a company like Sony or Microsoft literally own them.

And even if "Sony" isn't in their name, Sony Japan is a game developer that's produced games like Ape Escape, Knack, and all of Ueda's games.
Sony makes games.

At first, I thought it was just an elaborate troll. Nah, you're just dumb.
Sony owns the IPs, product, physical offices, and assets of each studio. They even own the IPs for several non-first party studios. Sony literally owns over 15 studios across the world. They are not contracted, they employ them. There's literally no difference between Sony owned studios and Nintendo owned studios.

There are a few studios that Sony is contracted with that they don't necessarily "own"; Kojima Productions would be a recent example.
But Naughty Dog is straight up Sony. "Naughty Dog...Founded by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin in 1984 as an independent developer, the studio was acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2001."

So in other words, I'm partially right and calling me dumb over it makes you look a mental retard screaming at the top of your lungs "HORIZON ZERO DAWNNNNNNNN"
Not to mention Naughty Dog being owned by Sony would certainly make them look worse in my eyes. So if Sony goes under, which ain't happening, Naughty Dog just stops making games? Sounds like they got a shitty deal.
That's the whole reason I've been questioning that. That's such a bad deal that I could not believe it to be true.

Sounds like pretty good deal for them. It's not like Sony doesn't help them develop, promote, and distribute these games.

That's not the point. The point is they are literally tied to Sony in every possible way. They aren't independent and can't decide their own fate or their own platform. At least Bungie was never Microsoft's slave.
Posted on 5/24/17 at 11:02 am to CockCommander
Okay well that Bungie deal was not a first party company. Just 3rd party with an exclusive.
For the record this is all the Sony owned studios.
Naughty Dog (Uncharted LoU etc.)
Polyphony Digital (Gran Turismo)
Santa Monica Studios (God of War)
Guerilla Games (Killzone, Horizon)
Sucker Punch (Infamous)
Media Molecule (LBP)
San Diego Studios (The show)
Bend Studios (Days Gone)
London Studios (TBA)
Japan Studio ( Knack, Last Guardian, Gravity Rush)
Pixelopus (TBD)
Manchestor Studio (TBD)
Then there is a ton of studios that have similar deals with Sony as bungie did once upon a time with Microsoft.
Insomniac games, Kojima Productions, etc.
Sony makes more games than anybody.
