He killed me once. Went back to him yesterday and potioned up better.
Got him.
Today went back to Vellen and killed all of the guarded chest monsters.
Was dissapointed in the red mane fiend. He went down too easy.
Killed a few lvl 32s but I couldn't kill that basilisk by the big arse tree so there is still one small area of vellen I haven't finished.
Also took care of lots of ?s in the water of skelli.
Hit lvl 27 tonight.
Got him.

Made it to level 35, mostly swimming stuff left in Skelli. Yes I have still ignored gwent.

Will completing the Brothers in Arms quest cut any major segments of the game off?

No, only when you actually get on a boat and head toward the Isle of Mists that certain quest lines get cut off -- secondary quests that you probably should've completed by now anyway, like Triss's, Keira's, and Dandelion's. There may be others, but I just emptied out of my secondary quest backlog (other than gwent, races, and fists of fury) before going to the isle of mists.
Regardless, before you get to the Isle, the game forces you to make a manual save. Once you save and continue, it will tell you what quests you've failed by continuing, so you can choose to load the last save and go back.
I just played the full Isle of Mists quest line tonight, all the way through the battle. Up to 145 hours now.
Also, I posted a collection of my best screenshots so far: imgur album

It did that once I started Brothers in Arms. Failed about 5 or 6 at once. Some of them didn't make sense (maybe because I simply didn't start them yet). One did make sense on account of my killing someone important (I was a bit drunk when I played that portion, didn't think I was being THAT aggressive).

These take like 2 minutes each to complete and can give you some easy XP.

Who's the hardest in your opinion? I've been playing on Death March for the past few days, and it definitely kicked things up a notch.

I honestly feel it's the werewolf from the low level contract in Velen. I don't know if it's due to him being so early in the game or just hard, but I probably died 15 times to that guy.

Yeah, that damn werewolf killed me a ton of times. But, I wasn't using mutagens yet and didn't have my skills selected.

I just hit level 24 and I have done most of the contracts/secondary quests and a fair amount of question marks (50%?).
Skellige has definitely brought forth some bugs including -
1) Always showing 2 swords on my back in the steel sword sheath
2) When I die I still look alive (still standing)
3) The sad tale of the grossbart brothers quest - I failed even though I killed the brothers and Fett did not die.

Think I only have 2 contracts - lvl 30+
No treasure quests outstanding.
Haven't had any bugs that bad.
Continue to crash a couple time or more per day but no quest bugs yet.
