I'm used to bigger teams and going multiple rounds with the same players (not entering a different random game every match)

The matches seem pretty short. Only 1 round?

I thought this was a BETA thing? Not sure though, never looked anything up.

Are you going to purchase?

Different game types have different numbers of rounds.

You usually stay on the same map for both Offense and Defense and then move on to another map.

I really love D.Va. Just getting a good mech bomb off on the objective is so satisfying.

Definitely love doing this as D.Va. Plus the ability to just lay down an unlimited stream of bullets. They might not hit for much, but you can be great suppressing fire and pick off squishies that are low.

Started trying McCree out and he's really fun. His flashbang grenade makes him great for dealing with Tracers or Genjis that want to charge in behind everyone with their speed. Stun them and fan the hammer to drop them. His Ult is really good too if you can get a good one off.

Played again last night for 3 hours. Even playing without buddies in a party, i'm still really enjoying this game.

Favorite characters so far:
Tank - Winston & DVA
Assault - Soldier 76 & Reaper
Support - Lucio
Sniper - Hanzo

Haha, but strangely enough probably my favorite character is: Mei.

Not exactly a heavy hitter. But you can really halt objective play and teams that use a lot of tanks with her freeze gun, ice walls, and her ultimate that freezes everything within a ring.

I'm ready for more of my friends to get the game, so I can stop being put on really bad teams with noobs against organized teams who have balanced character selections and are in party chat. There are still a few characters I'm really interested in playing with or spending more time getting use to. McCree, Genji, Pharah, Tracer, & Zarya. I tried them, but was on the wrong end of an arse whooping, so switched back over to a character I was more comfortable with.

Freezing a mobile assassin and then head shotting them as Mei is great. She also has a ton of utility.

I think am acres is pretty easy to pick up, some of those others are trickier.

I know it's still a BETA, hell what I've been playing is the early access BETA. But there is some balancing or nerfing necessary.

- Reaper. Can be a tad OP in small quarter areas of maps. A group of them and it's impossible
- Turret guy. Those turrets when upgraded are damn near impossible to get past or take out. It's an instant kill at Lvl 3 for any character that's not a tank.
- Chappie or the transformer guy. Had a group last night where 3 of them ran him. Plus a healer and a tank. They mounted themselves as turrets on top of the payload vehicle and just annihilated my team. The match might have lasted 4-5 minutes tops because the payload never stopped.

Overall tho, the guns and characters are all pretty balanced from what I can tell.

Bastion is hellish when you are new but he can really be hard-countered by mobile characters and Junkrat a Roadhog pull also works well.

If he's posted up I'm assuming you are meaning Bastion?

He is a terror if you can get to a good spot with a healer. I think I got up to 18-19 killstreak as Bastion one game. Was fun.

If you dont let him set up and get established he's not broken I find. Very vunerable to snipers.

Pretty squishy and lacks range. Yes he is good in tight quarters, but that's really his only niche.

Considering the only way to get a level 3 turret is for him to use is Ult, I think an instant kill is warranted. Most other ults are equally OP. I really haven't seen much of Torbjorn. He seemed to be everywhere during stress test weekend, but I haven't seen a single 'hammer banging on turret' PotG this week.

Bastion cheese is the noob killer. I'm not saying that a well setup bastion with a healer and group supporting him isn't hard to get around, but a group with 3 bastions should be easily countered unless your team just sucks arse. He's a big, stationary target. Get a widowmaker and go to town from ranged and bye bye Bastion.

Can't wait to get deeper into this game so I can actually contribute to the conversation

So far I've spent 90% of my first day playing Soldier 76(?). Seems straight forward, has self sustain, and his ultimate guarantees accuracy.

Dabbled quickly with 2 others. The chick with wings who heals, the little girl who can create an ice wall (which is bad arse).

yeah, the matchmaking screwed me that round.

a random group of noobs all under lvl rank and me a lvl 8.
against a party of 5/6/7 ranks.

was doomed from the start.

I've had those games. Had a payload mission on a map I had never played and our defense just melted. They moved it at will against us.

I've had the opposite where we just cruised to victory too.

matchmaking might be wonky for a bit since none of the closed beta carried over. You've got guys that have never played and guys that have played for months all starting with fresh MMR.

As OP as that group of Bastions seems to be, whenever my team tries 3 Bastions we always get our asses steamrolled.

This. Her utility is off the charts. I can see uses for her offensively and defensively.

I tried the guy with the hook, went positive so it was a pretty good experience.
