Do you really think someone is out front of your house catching all the pokemon causing them show up on pokevision?
Hell maybe there is. But pokevision shows:
What you scan
What someone with the app opens sees
What someone else nearbye scanned
It for sure misses stuff. Just like nearbye does. I have some theories on that but they are unproven and just my own theories.

Those of you that are culling based in Iv's what is the number you are drawing the line at? If I've narrowed it down mine is 75 right now if there's wiggle room though I'm keeping 65 and up

Struck up a convo with a guy playing pokemon in my town tonight. He said that each team has certain advantages, like Instinct members are more likely to hatch rare pokemon not found in their area, and Mystic members get better CP upgrades during evolution. I just googled this and don't see anything. Was that guy full of shite?

40-75% is the lowest I keep.
Don't just look at the highest iv %. You may have a high lvl pokemon with bad IVs and not a low lvl one with good ivs.

A popular rumor on reddit last week proven untrue. Similar to collecting Pokéballs back after misses
I think the 3rd leg of that hoax was Valor getting more xp for defending and taking gyms

Why would the levels matter other than more stardust?

Thanks for confirming my suspicion.

This is tough to explain.
So you tell the calculator your pokemons hp, cp, and dust cost.
From this it can only approximate your pokemons level.
So.. for example..you may have a lvl 10 pokemon with high IVs...or..a lvl 11.5 pokemon with shite IVs... the cp and hp would look exactly the same.
That's why you get a range. The lvl 10 one may have 74% perfection but the 11.5 one has 40% perfection.
Conclusion is id only invest stardust into a pokemon with a real high lowest possible IV perfection %. 65%-95% is the range id keep and 85% or up guaranteed is what I would dust

Ok that's what I was doing. Anything that was borderline that I was leaning towards keeping I powered up once to refine and see which way it fell.

Good. As I was typing that novel out I had a feeling I was explaining something you already knew..hah. but I was gonna post it anyways
Just in case anyone else wanted to better understand the dark and confusing world of IVs

It's an extremely dark and confusing world to enter lol it took me a couple days to figure out how it worked and what I wanted my cutoffs to be. I have some high cp stuff I would have axed if I would have known better but they're along for the ride now.

Are y'all using the average perfection or just looking at the highest possible. Also how can I tell what lvl the Pokemon are?
Posted on 7/25/16 at 11:30 pm to AsphaltFunk
You cant..it's hidden.
Hence why im skeptical of pokemon with low 'worst possible iv' %s.
I'd like the range to be tight and high before evo and investing into it

I put in
Pokemon
Cp
Hp
Dust
Powered=no
But it gives me no IV info like 15/15/15 for defense, attack, and stamina. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

This is why I always throw curves and aim for Nice or Great throws.
Some of those %s are just sad
