I start with a high average IV and narrow it down with one power up if it's borderline or had lots of options. You start breaking it down you will get a good feel for it. My goal is to get the highest evo of each Pokemon above 75% one day. Just be careful about wasting stardust.

Man, some of these Pokemon escaping and then running away is really pissing me off. I lost a Ponyta or whatever today that ran away after one escape from the pokeball. I lost a Fearow the same way except I threw every pokeball I had at the Fearow before it bolted. I have also lost a Scyther twice after only one escape from the pokeball. Really aggravating when the game just steals your shite.
Today I got a Tauros, Dodio and a Tangela as my new finds.
I am ready to evolve a bunch of shite and get 5 new ones from those evolutions. I am level 12. Should I continue to hold off and wait for higher CP stuff to evolve? I know I will use one of my lucky eggs when I do evolve.

I mean technically.. yeah you should wait for higher cp stuff but..play however you want. If you want new pokemon now..just do it.
Altho I'd wait until you had a lot of pidgeys weedles and rattatas to go along with them

Can someone explain a little better how to find these "perfect" Pokemon. Well, not find them but how to tell how close to perfect they are.
I used this site: LINK
Do I want all 3 of those categories; Battle, CP and HP to be as high a percentage as possible? Is this what people mean when they say something like 43-65% or whatever?
I am about to go on an evolving spree and want to evolve the right ones.
Also, I have seen mention of people using some kind of site or app to see what has been spotted nearby. Can someone please link to that. I read back quite a few pages but didn't see a link or name, just mentions of it.

I do. I am going to evolve at least 20 Pokemon but only 5 of them will result in something new for me.

Pokevision.com is the site
And yeah you want the %s to be as high as possible for your evolve candidates
That site you linked displays information a little different from pokeassistant.com but it's the same data. That one is more user friendly but I think pokeassistant.com has more data and ranges but harder to read

I also found this link in here which is a bit different and it gives an average perfection rating. Is this the best one to use? I have a Dodio at an average of 81% so is that a good percentage? What are most people aiming for as a good start?
LINK
I have a Venonat at 92.2% average with the low being 91% so it seems like the one to evolve for sure.

That's good enough for your level.. yeah.
I look at all,3..the min max and avg
I'd rather a high and tight range like 85-92 instead of a wide one like 55-87 for instance.
For now just work on identifying pokemon with high IVS and that knowledge will help you once you get into the lvl 20s
You are getting the hang of it

Thanks for the help. I found the ranges to be awfully big on some so I used the other site which seems better at estimating a level for your Pokemon. That allowed me to throw out the high end or low end of the averages based on what level they predicted it to be. So I find using both sites together works best when the range is so big.

This document is also handy
Shows all pokemon by their base stats and what their best possible move combination is, then ranks them
LINK
Also shows what specials are best, who has the highest hp..etc
High IVs will tell which pokemon to evo and the right moveset will tell you which one to stardust up and use in gyms.

Thanks.
I am finding that my highest % IVs are coming from the Pokemon I hatched from eggs, as opposed to what I found in the wild. Although I have transferred tons that I captured so who knows how many really good ones I sold off. I went through and labeled them with their numbers. If I have multiples I only labeled the highest and will compare any new ones to that and re-label if I find a higher % one.

I too have noticed my highest IVs have come from eggs.
Don't worry too much about transferring good ones...at low levels they are all pretty worthless because you will level up fast and find higher cp stuff in the wild.
A pokemon may have good IVs but if you have to commit a ton of stardust just to get it to cp1000 then it really isn't worth.

That pokevision site is amazing. It says there is a ghastly not too far from me but it despawns in less than a minute and I am not running out at 2 in the morning. lol I have a feeling I am going to be going crazy with this tomorrow. Is that site reliable?
Posted on 7/26/16 at 1:55 am to BigB0882
Very reliable. Although it doesn't show EVERY pokemon out there, the ones it does show are absolutely at the location shown.

My eggs have been shite recently. Mostly Nidorans, Magikarps, shite I already have, no starters from 2ks... Only wins were Rhyhorn and Gastly boosting my candy supplies.
Need eggs to hatch into things I can get candy to evolve.

I hatched my first 10 Km egg earlier and got a fricking Pinsir. I about lost it. I expected something amazing. The 5 Km eggs have been pretty good to me but as you collect more I suppose you will get more repeats. I am just going to look at the eggs as ways to get more candy and therefore as tools to evolve and level up.
Glad to know the pokevision is accurate. Even if it misses stuff I can keep an eye on it and track down things I have been looking for.
I got my 2nd 10 Km egg today. I am level 12 so I feel pretty lucky because I see some people who have only had 1 and are at a higher level. If my first one was any indication then you aren't missing out and would be better off hatching two 5 Km eggs, anyway.

I have been meaning to ask, is anyone else having issues with the tracking on this game? It will show me the nearby Pokemon but they ALL have 3 footprints under them no matter what. I find it is usually right in that those Pokemon are in fact nearby, but for weeks now It always shows 3 footprints. When I first downloaded the game it showed 1, 2 or 3 depending on closeness but about 2 weeks ago or so it went to showing 3 for everything and has yet to fix, even after an update. Is it just me or is this a problem for everyone?

Everyone has that problem right now
