The comps don't always call for that.
Even still, the biggest issue isn't necessarily the lack of grouping.
While a team comp may very well call for constant 5 man team fighting, if someone isn't there (whether they are right are wrong for not being there), don't engage if you know you can't win.
Can't tell you how many times I've played Tryndamere, and have my team initiating 4v5 fights while I'm split pushing and taking towers in other lanes. Then I get bitched at "If Tryn was here we would have won that fight."
Yeah, but I wasn't there, so don't engage if I tell you my TP is down.
People want to fight, knowing ahead of time they can't win, then bitch when the teamfight is lost.

eh, I'm not uninstalling it or anything, but I think I'm done. I started playing this game with 3 people who have all moved on, I need to stop spending so much time away from my wife.... and in general the community is filled with assholes, and I don't care to be around it anymore.

Yeah if you don't jungle often, mute will probably help out a lot. I've gotten to the point where I'll only call out if someone used summs or ping. Nothing else. The thing about xin is that you need to get your devourer item and then fight. But most lanes are pretty much decided by then, as in bot/top have already given up first blood.

I've had success when ganking mid after getting the second major buff (red/blue depending on side) if the mid is immobile.
With Xin's sustain, I usually gank 2-3 times before my first back.

Nah he was on my team and went singed. Strangely enough he had connection issues all game but we still won. I had a miserable lane matchup (Kass vs Veigar) but we out-scaled and won.
