Because ranked goes by MMR, those ranks mean absolutely nothing.

Example: That gold 5 you mention has an MMR of 1,369. Your MMR is 1,436, you are ranked higher than he is.

True that. We spanked them. Silver 4 and climbing. I see jerizer in my league. Got him in my sights.

MMR: 1468 now. haha.
One loss.... down to 1320....

Sad that they make me slowly climb from Bronze 2.... yet he is sitting in Gold 5... and yet my MMR is still higher than his.

I think Karma would be more useful in team ranked, but I would rather Ziggs if I'm going solo or duo. If the team is on the same page, then her AOE speed/shield is pretty OP. I've been playing some Kog'Maw mid lately and it has been working a lot better than I thought.

Really good interview about League from TL's owner with Yahoo's Travis Gafford.

Talks about current challenger system, BO3 format, international events and lackthereof, etc.

Definitely sounds like Riot is mulling over some serious changes to the League eSport scene.

Steve mentions the high possibility of traveling for regular season games. As in Week 3 Spring Split live from Denver, or Chicago, or Seattle, etc and the call for more major events especially internationally following the CSGO major model.

Oh and with League possibly very soon going to a franchise model.

Of all the things that piss me off the most about this game, it's got to be people who wait until we are 10 seconds from starting the game to dodge.

I've now wasted 20 minutes in champ selects bc people let us get through the entire pick and ban phase, then dodge last second.

Been waiting to play for about 15 minutes now.

Player schedules are already strenuous, now you're going to add constant travel? That seems like a bit much.

Is Riot fronting the money for these teams to fly their players across the country each week?

ETA: Playing Rengar for the 2nd time in Normals...enemy team is all Gold and Plat.....frick me.

Well he didn't say every single week, Riot is also looking to completely restructure the current format.

I think the point is, big big changes are coming for LCS.

The 2 split with playoffs and then worlds is definitely changing from the sounds of it, with more majors both locally and internationally.

As far as traveling every few weeks or so for regular season, I would imagine that would be deducted from the global revenue when the League becomes franchised.

If the organizations become franchises, they will share all of the LCS's revenue, like pro sports.

He also says "We'll see how the events they have planned for after Worlds go", so there must be something new in the works for that time period where normally it's preseason and nothing on the LCS front until the Spring Split outside of All Stars.

Good.

I love watching the international competition.

Also just finished my 2nd game as Rengar. A lot of fun. Was nice to be on the giving end of the insane and unstoppable burst

Let's see if I can get through promos to S3 today.

ETA: Holy Crap. Got a free win in Promo Series.

We S3 boys! Only had to win 1 game in promos. That's legit cool. Wish I had known about this earlier. I could be Masters by now.

4 divisions in 6 weeks.

Congrats to Cloud 9 on their million+ dollar victory today.

Echo Fox 3-0's NRG to retain the final spot and relegate NRG.

KiwiKid gets relegated twice in the same season.

Shaq vs Rick Fox in the Elimination match... with Kobe on the call.

It was an All Laker's final, and of course, Shaq was the one that had to roll out.

Been trying Rengar the last few games. Seems hit or miss depending on the enemy team's comp.

Last game had a few issues with synergy while ganking lanes, and it caused a lot of issues.

Anyone care to explain what franchising would do?

Protection for the owners and players that their team/brand would not just vanish, as well as shared revenue.

All sports teams are franchised, the Yankees aren't going to up and get relegated and then sold off and no longer exist, neither should LCS teams with good owners like NRG and nearly Echo Fox. Owners with big time money, and good owners at that. They want protection on their investment like real sports owners have. That is reportedly why Mark Cuban has not bought a team yet despite the high interest for awhile now.

Too many good big name big money owners in the League now to not franchise, in their opinion. I agree.

This split alone you have NRG and FC Schalke 04 being relegated, both with big name big money great owners and a well established brand. Riot does not want that, owners do not want that. If the Yankees finish last, their brand isn't completely fricked from one season, or in this case, one 3 month split.
