2018 - 2019 looks like it's going to be a great time period for games

E3 next year should be very good

What did they announce about fire emblem?

just the Fire Emblem Warriors game (Dynasty Warriors franchise) - Fire Emblem is a very Eastern style game, so I'm expecting information about it at TGS

As for Retro, I do wonder if we get a Direct for them... it's very very odd that we haven't heard about them for 3 years - and they have 100% been active before the Switch release, multiple post leading up to the reveal

I just noticed that Ubi has The Crew 2 coming.

I got the crew for free off XBL and it was pretty fun, for what it is. nice to see a another entry.

MH became a portable endeavor. It didn't get a portable version until after Monster Hunter 2 on PS2.

The PSP games were modified versions of the base PS2 games. MH Portable 3rd was released alongside Monster Hunter Tri on Wii.

Monster Hunter 4 was the first ever mainline game to debut on handheld vs console. MH4 Ultimate got brought to Wii U. After that, they've made some spin-offs on 3DS.

For all intents and purposes, MH World is a mainline game. It's a full AAA game with the main dev team behind it. Switch is getting a port of the 3DS spin off, MH XX. I would expect a similar situation to the 3rd entry where Switch gets a Monster Hunter Portable 5.

i'm glad it isn't retro

the people who made prime 1 and 2 no longer work there and didn't for prime 3 if I remember correctly.

I looked it up because even though it's an awesome game I felt like "wtf" after playing prime 3

That's what I said...

Wasn't always, is now and that's where a lot of the drive is since the Japanese audience is focused on portable moreso than console.

Yeah, I wouldn't disagree. It's a game backed by the main team. All I'm saying is the latter part - it isn't part of the core 1, 2, 3, 4 line - it SEEMS like that is still in play and the next core game will be on the Switch.

Apparently, they have removed many of the usual systems in the game I've only played 3 and 4 so that would be my only comparison. Is it or is it not 5? That's not certain.

Has COD WW2 been discussed yet? That's all I care about.

They kept the janky animations that have been there since Monster Hunter Portable, it's looking to be right in line with the rest of previous games.

Well, it's not like the PS4 is a non-factor in Japan. While the series is much more successful on handhelds, it'll still be successful in its own right.

Peter Parker, or Miles Morales depending on the timeline.

TGS is in September and PSX is in December. We'll see if they can live up to the billing.

New Sucker Punch IP and maybe a FromSoftware game is the obvious guesses.
