Yep. I fully believe that if Halo never existed, the Xbox would have been the end of the line. First Gen Xbox was by far the worst of the generation, but Halo was a masterpiece.

Wut. They own so many popular and beloved series, but their output/manpower isn't deserving of the title.

My perception of Nintendo is that they're an enthusiast company at heart. They sometimes hit it big with their ideas, but due to their nature, they're unable to sustain it. Fairly conservative with their IPs, but still can surprise you every now and then.

It's interesting that you bring up the 64 because that's when Nintendo's problems started.

Sony benefited from Sega's colossal mistakes with the Saturn. It was a third party game (FF7) that turned the tide against the 64 in 97.
