You get a primary and secondary weapon and the game never tells you all the absolutely ridiculous shite you can mixing and matching and putting what in slot A compared to slot B

I did notice this, and already bought every weapon available from the resistance camp and found the Fang in the Apartment Complexes.

haven't gone too in depth with combos yet. good to know, though

Really? I've been playing it recently for the first time and while I love the characters and story, the side quests are AWFUL. I mean, they're so bad that characters in the game make fun of how tedious they are.

It's a product of the time I think. While some of them are worth the time investment, that's an area where it really shows its age.

I do like the story and music more in the first Nier, but they're both masterpieces to me.

One of the most beautifully written, brilliantly executed games I've ever played.

Took me back to the feeling I got the first time I played Chrono Trigger as a kid.

fricking mind-blowing.

Yes I have to agree with you here. I never much liked any nier game. I did like some of the drakengard stuff which if I remember is lore connected in a pretty massive way. I was very reactant to play automata because of this. Honestly what made me start it was 2Bs hot sexy arse with a blindfold on in a shirt short skirt shredding everythjng in her path with sick as combos ranging from short and long swords, spears, axes, hand weapons, and more.

And boy am I glad I did. Op just so you know there are technically 26? Endings. One for each letter of the alphabet however only A B C D and E are plot relevant and are part of the narrative. The remaining are all joke endings where you fail or die in some gruesome horrible or hilarious manner. You can look them up if you wanna see them all just save before you do them

Damn I know the campaigns are short relatively but you got to the point where

Spoilers for first campaign as 2B until you get to the A2 fight

You reached the forest temple place where the robots were protecting their baby as was A2?

What loadout? I Can tell you the one I generally found best

Ancient overlord / fang of the twins is what’s working for me at the moment.

A2 is imo the best and most interesting character in the game but you wont rslly know shite about her, her true purpose and nature, or anything until campaign C and the really a lot of revelations come in D

It has been like 3 years since I played so i dont remember weapon names (looked them up) but what I found I cranked the most damage out with, and you wont have access to these yet, is take the best short sword in the game and put it in slot A where your heavy weapon would logically go you think (this is the engine blade imo a blatant reference to Noctis ultimate weapon in FF15 with some special abilities) and either another short sword that belongs to devola and popula the type 3 sword in slot b (helpful special effects that seem almost tailored for beginners or more laid back veterans. It provides endurance for improved sustainability, and the Finish Blast is a satisfying explosive finish to a completed combo. Popola and Devola have it for sale. or if you want something with more oopmh and power in your offhand use the spear of the usurper when you get it. It delivers a higher chance of dealing critical damage and has a unique ability called Turncoat that can randomly convert enemies to fight at your side.which

I still think about this game from time and time and listen to the soundtrack quite often. It truly is unforgettable. Enjoy the ride!

Came back from vacation and finally powered through A ending.

Last Eve fight sucked. Switched to missiles and it was a lot easier at least.

As the other poster mentioned, you can kinda speed through route B as you're really trying to get from story point to story point.
