In a trailer released on Tuesday, the game highlighted a new mode titled “Road to the Show: Women Pave Their Way.”
“For the first time ever, you can create and play as a female ballplayer, with a unique Road to the Show story that evolves with the player over the course of your career,” it says on MLB The Show’s website. “Experience a personalized story where players can interact and build their own baseball career. if they added this feature to be able to play a woman's baseball league (a la A League of Their Own) then this would have been kinda cool, but to simply add in the ability to thrust a woman into MLB is fricking ridiculous.

Women are not barred from playing MLB, as far as I know.

I can't wait to recruit the female linebacker in ESPN College Football. Makes the game worth every penny.

This is such a clear-as-day marketing ploy to get the female demo to buy the game because they already know that they've maxed out the male demo.
I guess I get it because there is not many more ways you can go to increase year-to-year sales for a sports game, but here I am just wishing that they would add full minor leagues.

i want to see how they captured animations from a female(s) that can turn a double play from shortstop>secondbase>firstbase at 70+mph and 90ft base paths. 
also, seeing one hit a 500+ft home run would be funny.

I looked up Kelsie Whitmore's stats in the Atlantic League. Just under career ERA of 12 in 25 innings and a .038 batting average. Impressive.

Yeah the people pushing this are under the impression that some societal thing is keeping women out, not the fact that men and women's shoulders and hips operate differently

Fun fact: the only woman to ever be drafted by the NBA was Lusia Harris, she was the 137th pick (by the Jazz) back in 1977 but never got any playing time (also, she didn't even try out for the Jazz because she was pregnant at the time).
