The sound of my mechanical key board is one of the most satisfying things in the world. The feel of typing on the thing makes me want an excuse to type more. Also having a kb that doesn't drop inputs because I'm pressing too many keys at once is a godsend in some games and programs.

I like my Das keyboard a lot

but are lying to themselves if they say the noise doesn't bother the shite out of them.

Not only is this false but I've gotten over insomnia listening to ASMR videos with mechanical keyboard sounds.

I was gonna recommend a Microsoft Sidewinder X4, but just realized they're not made anymore and go for upwards of $279. Best non-mechanical gaming keyboard ever. Hope mine never breaks...

So inherently every mechanical keyboard clicks?
No. He has no clue what he's talking about. Reds/blacks/browns with o-rings are completely silent even if you bottom out.

No one in this thread is good enough to notice the difference in reaction time
Maybe not reaction time, but length of use and pressing a key only to not have it actuate are noticeable. Not to mention that when a mechanical keyboard does start to have problems, you can just order the switches themselves and replace them instead of having to get a whole new keyboard.

From a programming standpoint, mechanical keyboards are incredible. The feel is unrivaled, and you sounds like you're flying due to the noise. They're loud as shite. My noise cancelling headphones are the only reason I still have most of my hearing with as much typing as I do regularly.
