The story and characters are perfect. The ending is perfectly done and an example of how all squad RPGs should finish games.
The faults lie mainly in their overcorrections involving the faults of ME1.
Agreed a billion percent. The ending is perfection, even if the human reaper was kinda meh. The fight was great.
Mako sucks? Get rid of planetary exploration altogether! Overcorrection. Inventory sucks? Get rid of inventory entirely! But the way that combat was improved was so significant that it's easy to overlook those flaws. I can't hate on gameplay of 2 or 3. It's just...frick 3. frick the entire story. frick it hard.
Having started a new play of ME1, I can admit that the gameplay feels very stiff and not as good as I remember it. But it's still really good. Excited to move on to ME2 after my second run through of ME1.

Most of the series was an illusion(Michael-tricks are what whores do for money, or cocaine!)...Shep was indoctrinated early on in ME1

Just finished ME1 again.
So that makes 1-3 then 1 again.
It was a bit painful going back to the mako and the omni gel inventory mess.
Still had fun. Understood the inventory system better so I didn't have much trouble with any of the big fights other than dying a few times freeing Liara.
Think I'm done. I'll play 2 and 3 again some day but for now I am leaving the Mass Effect universe.

Continued to be bored so I played ME2 and ME3 again.
Did much better this time and everyone survived ME2 which made my play through of ME3 much better the second time.
Also was able to save the Geth & Tali this time.
Went with destruction on first play but went with synthesis this time.
Wasn't willing to kill Edi and the Geth. Figured destruction only sets the loop back into action so synthesis was the best option.
Don't need to rehash the hatred again. I actually liked the ending both times although I felt bad about killing Edi on the first play.
Truly a great series. I'm spoiled now. Almost have to give up gaming because I don't see anything living up to this one.
Guess I'll hit Witcher 3 at some point after a few bug patches.
