Maybe it's just the differences in mechanics, but the 2nd boss is kicking my arse. I never got stuck this early on in any souls game.

It's not a souls game.

Just wait until you get to An Invitation from the Warrior of the West if you think Hino-Enma is hard

Is that the boss of the cliff/cave level or the village?

Hino-Enma - the Bat boss

by comparison - I beat the next boss without even dying once smh

Not even close. I beat every boss in the game on the first try save for a select few, and only one of the bullshite endgame double bosses took me more than 5 tries.

Hino-Enma seemed to be the bottleneck for a lot of people because of her speed and paralysis, but she only has like 4 moves. That's the problem with 90% of Nioh bosses: very small movesets and and susceptibility to dodging towards them.

I find the boss fights harder for sure.

But, once you get to the fourth region you can learn some very OP skills to make it easy.

At first it seems as hard as a Souls game, but it gets, way, way easier.

The last half of the game is extremely easy (compared to Souls games, still hard compared to average games).

I beat pretty much every single boss in the last half of the game in 2 tries or less. I wasn't using any cheap items or spells either, just burning them down with weapon/dodging.

The 2nd boss you are referring to (the bat lady) is probably the 2nd hardest boss in the entire game.

I get so angry watching videos of people beating Muneshige I'm doing like 800 damage on my criticals, and like 80 damage per hit, everyone online does around 1400 per crit and 300 per hit.. and take way less damage. The irony, I feel like I'm overleveled

Not Hino-Enma. I'm including the tutorial boss in the count. I'm talking about Onryoki. I finally figured out the way to beat him. It's just the polar opposite of Dark Souls strategy to me so I'm not used to it.

Yep. I had the same problem. Once you figure out not to dodge roll forward to get behind him like in souls games, it made it way easier.

Gear means way more than levels in this game. Farm some revenants or forge some gear up to your level if you are having issues.

Yeah it took me like 12 deaths for me to realize that staying in front was actually infinitely better. One thing I appreciate is the lack of super obvious tells.

Huh? That's what worked for me. Dash towards him to get behind him during his swing. Hit a few times and then back off for his circle AOE attack.

This. Destroyed him on NG+ with same strategy

Sign of the cross with duals is so fricking awesome. I love hitting them with that combo and then timing the pulse with Sign. fricking shreds people. Easily the most badass way to finish someone off.
