next gen hardware will have a mobile processor.

wont release some of their most popular games for a very long time.

refuse to make games for any other hardware/platform than Nintendo.

did you really just link their current stock trade in attempt to show that they are doing well?

Do you even understand finance and accounting?

Their stock went down a little when they announced they don't actually own Pokemon. Still the prospect of doing something mobile with Mario, Zelda, and their other big name properties should keep them going strong for a long time.

It's just one point in about a billion to show how dumb you are for actually thinking Nintendo is going down.

They'll never go away forever, but their days of being a sole console manufacturer is gone. They'll diversify more and more, depends on how the NX does. They won't have a 3ds to offset the losses of another Wii u.

It's more than enough to disprove your assumption. Having your highest stock value in 5 years is a pretty good indicator that you aren't killing your company.

Nintendo is in far better shape than Sony. Playstation is literally the only worthwhile business they have. Xbox consoles have continually lost money. There was a lot of pressure on Microsoft's new CEO to drop Xbox. They make money off it indirectly though. Just because you don't play a Nintendo system doesn't mean they're on the verge of bankruptcy.

Nintendo MADE money this past fiscal year. They haven't reported a gross income loss in a fiscal year since 2012. Nintendo is nowhere near going under.

I mean, this just isn't true. Playstation still accounts for less than 20% of their revenue (this is the first time in a year or so that PS brought the most revenue out of all divisions). While PS is a definitely a pillar for the company, it's not the only reason they're ok. Their most stable division of the company is their Financial Services division that still brought in the most profit last Q (48 billion yen vs 44 billion yen).

Here's a link to their latest report if you're interested. LINK

Eh, yes and no. They own a a majority stake in Pokemon Co. and both Gamefreak and Creatures, who both own Pokemon. They also own all of the trademarks, copyrights, etc.

The ownership is complicated, and honestly, I think they are now underestimating the impact Go will have long term.

Not a great amount and it followed a loss

1. They didn't report a gross income loss in 2012

2. Most people look at net income. (Gross income )

3. They had net income losses in 2012, 2014. They made money the following years (a very small amount in 2013) but there are also benefits that are realized from a loss in the form of tax deductions for following years.

4. Sorry you don't want to admit it but there is a downward trend here. Slowly going down but it's trending down (hence the word "slowly" used in the thread title; no one said they were dead in the water yet). The next few years are incredibly important and I don't think the NX, running a mobile chipset from nividia, is the answer.

Aside from Mario Party and Warioware, I don't really see what you can do with these franchises, especially Zelda. I don't see a way to make a good Zelda game feasible on a phone.
