System Shock 2 waaaaaaay too low.
DOOM also too low.
Both are top ten material. DOOM has a solid argument to be number one.

Good to know your opinions, when it comes to video games, are worthless.

COD4 and GTA 3 changed the way we play video games. Top 5 for sure.

GTA V is the game of this generation. It's multiplat, incredible single play, great multiplayer, and incredible support on PC
It truly is what all games should strive to be

MGS 1, 2 and 3 all Top 40. Kojima couldn’t capture the magic again with 4, PW and V. PW is understandable because its a PSP game, but he really dicked up the last two console titles.

Meh, I wouldn’t place it all on Konami, but they certainly had a hand in it.

Doom basically set the stage for the first person shooter genre. It may not be number one but it deserves to be very high.

Your recency bias is showing. If given the choice between playing DOOM and Battlefield 1 today, I’d probably pick Battlefield 1. But at the same time, I’d understand that without DOOM, Battlefield 1 and every game like it would not exist.

The problem with these sorts of lists is deciding on whether we're talking about the most influential games or the games that are most fun to play. If it's the latter, then you have to ask the question of whether we're discussing how much fun we had back when we played them originally (back when they were current) or how much fun they would be right now if you played them.
This is important to consider because Goldeneye and System Shock 2 do not hold up well, for example.
A few parting shots, though:
- Mario Odyssey shouldn't even be on this list, though I enjoyed it.
- Super Mario Galaxy 2 is better than Super Mario Galaxy 1.
- There should be a Mario Kart game on here somewhere (Double-dash imo).
- Grim Fandango, though I liked it when it was originally released, is overrated. Day of the Tentacle should be in its place.
- ...and I'm happy Spelunky is at least present because I still play it occasionally to this day, though it doesn't get much love on this board.

Yeah, you lost me.
Double Dash is where I pretty much stopped caring about Mario Kart. I'm not saying they are bad games, but I can pinpoint DD as when I stopped finding them as fun and I haven't been able to get back in.
My favorite was MK64, but for some reason it's viewed by a lot in the industry as one of the worst. But as with the first one where I really only cared about battle mode and not so much racing (still did a lot of that, mind you), MK64 was the complete opposite. Granted, battle mode wasn't nearly as good IMO, but I loved the tracks in MK64 and spending all day doing 4 player split screen races was a pretty common thing for me in college.
If I had to put one on this list, however, I'd go with the first one. So groundbreaking and mind blowing that the mario universe could pull of such a fun and engaging racing game. Was my first experience with racing against ghosts during time trials. Battle mode was GOAT and was one of my favorite early gaming memories with my dad when he still played with us.

MARIO 64 is my favorite game ever. In my opinion it is perfect. So I can’t be upset at 10, really. And SMW is a fantastic game so I’ll accept this list.

Do you even Quake bro?
Not only that, if you are going with "set the stage for the genre" then it's Wolfenstein 3D or bust. In that 5-8 years period, I'd go with Quake as the most important of the bunch, however, with Wolfenstein as the progenitor.
Quake is probably the most important FPS prior to Halo 2.

I meant low as in it should be higher on the list.

This list oddly feels legit with Portal @ 3 and HL2 @ 8.
IMO HL2 and Portal should be higher but meh. I'll take it.
