I don't think anyone has presented any outrage per se. Just discussion over a game that has taken things to the next level in regards to video game violence

I've always said that people who go out and kill for fun aren't doing it b/c they saw a movie or video game. They are disturbed on a much deeper level. However, I don't think it's reaching to say a game like this could definitely contribute to that final push or whatever you want to call it. It's definitely not theraputic or any type of anger release. I would argue it's the exact opposite and would only serve to fuel a psycho's rage and urges even more

It's already en route to a neighborhood near you

If anything encourages someone who is already disturbed, I think it would be if they glorify it. The action in game isn't the issue as much as glorification to me. Those crazies always love the attention and view themselves as some savior.

Choices or not (like that's relevant), you can do some pretty heinous shite in GTA, and people mostly have their Doritos and Mountain Dew and embrace it. I wouldn't doubt some fake backlash by gamers for this game, not really referencing anyone here, btw.

That's kinda what I was getting at. GTA you can do it or not. This game, that's the sole purpose with more human emotion involved with the victims.

Yeah. If it's something that could actually happen or has, I can't watch or play it. Never will watch Schlinder's List. Then ending of Unbreakable, with the kids tied up with their parents dead, bothered me to no end and I haven't watched it since.

Game just looks like Postal (which was made 17 years ago) with updated graphics and finishing moves.

Watching that video left me feeling a bit unnerved. Quite disconcerting to kill just because you're an angry sociopath.

Def not for me.
His opening speech was laughable though. Like they were clearly satirizing the whole revenge of the nerd Columbine mentality. I thought it was laid on pretty thick. Tone will have a lot to do with how I feel about this.

I wouldn't play it.

That being said, the high school shooting scene in American Horror Story was the only thing in a long time that actually made me sweat in fear.

Who is going to publish this? i doubt any of the big box companies even allow this to be played on their system, so that leaves PC.

I'm actually quite pleasant when I play GTA. I stop for pedestrians to cross the street and abide by all traffic laws unless I'm being pursued by the cops. I only kill people when I'm being paid for it.

Video games like this... make me wonder if they were funded by the anti-video game groups and politicians to create the ultimate straw-man-poster-child-exhibit-A-prepackaged-freeze-dried-proof for every headline, speech, or campaign for the next 10 years.

That's what I hate about these stupidly violent games, and I will include GTA in the mix as well -- they become the representative of all video games by any person or group attempting to destroy the industry.
