Not our problem Nintendo is original, inspiring, innovative, memorable, and doesn't sell their soul to mass media games like COD, Battlefield, etc.
You see people citing these games because that's just the nature of the beast. I totally just turned that into a console war, but my point is, that's what you get when you have a bunch of independent Asians who came along way before us white guys started making video games

Hard to argue with Mario 64--getting the 120th star was the most satisfying thing for me as a kid. If they were to remake a game in any genre, that would be my vote. GOAT IMO.

Nintendo is not original. I had a Commadore 64 and Atari well Before Nintendo. I agree that Nintendo has memorable games, but they aren't original. And the reason the masses sell their soul to COD or BF is because they are actually fun to play....

Initially. But that's what multiplatform first party mega games sell. The shock value. The multiplayer. How many people do you know play games like Titanfall, halo, etc. for the storyline? Nobody. Halo maybe the exception, but that's what separates Nintendo. They make some miserably bad choices with 3rd party developers, but when they REALLY focus on their core first party exclusives.....they are some of the best games in the history of gaming. That's why you see everybody saying OOT.
I don't have a link readily available cause I'm posting from my phone, but I'm pretty sure a handful of magazines and websites recognize LOZOOT as the greatest game ever created. I also believe it's because Nintendo is STRICTLY a gaming company. Whereas Sony and Microsoft are massive media conglomerates with separate entertainment divisions.

Old stuff like Fallout 2, Wasteland, Starflight had story lines to match, but haven't aged as well as Chrono, FF, or OOT due to graphics/playstyle/game inputs.
I'd probably put Dragon Age: Origins up as the best of recent games.
