There's a thread running on the Tech Board about folks swapping over to 10 and the issues they are having (or the lack of issues, in many cases).

Has anyone here made the change yet? If so, how has the gaming been? Which game(s)?

The only "issue" I've had thus far was when I booted up steam and started Fallout New Vegas. It autodetected what graphics settings I should play on and put them on Medium settings. My rig is more than capable of playing it at Ultra Settings at 60 fps. Hell it plays way more graphics heavy games than New Vegas at ultra settings 60 fps. I put the graphics settings up to ultra and played for about 10 minutes and everything seemed to be ok. I haven't played for an extended period of time though. It could be a driver issue.

pre ordeered pro for $129 on Newegg. waiting for it to arrive Via FedEx. Im mainly playing dirty bomb now which i believe runs off Dx9. Mainly upgrading for future tech, will likely come in handy when start citizen releases their FPS

Do you not already own Windows 7 or higher? If you do, then Windows 10 is FREE for the next year.

No. My 7 ultimate isn't genuine.

My 8.1 Pro isn't genuine either, but Microsoft doesn't seem to notice or mind.

Wait. I gotta pay for it after a year? My Windows 8.1 is genuine in that I got it from a friend still enrolled at LSU. Not sure how I feel about using something for a year then paying for it. I mean. Come on. You gave me a year.

It's free to upgrade this year after this year is over people who want to upgrade have to pay. If you get it within this year it's free and never have to pay.

In theory, they just mean that you have a year to get it for free. Once on your computer it is yours for however long you have that computer.

However, I don't believe them. I have zero doubt that they want to move to a yearly subscription for the OS just like they have done with office.

That might be a few years down the line, but I don't have any doubt that is the direction they are headed.

Windows 10 didn't recognize my gpu until I downloaded a driver update. The OS feels more sluggish than 8.1 but no gaming issues thus far.

I want to pull the trigger on this but I think I will wait a little while longer for more reviews and for people to find the bugs.

I'm bored so I might pull the trigger tonight even though I know I should wait a bit.

I had not received my notification to install yet but decided I'd try out the manual install tool they provide. Went from Win 7 to the new 10 with no problems at all (upgrade). It may have taken 30 minutes which includes time to download a new version of Nvidia Experience and get the new Windows 10 driver.

Haven't actually played anything yet...I booted up The Witcher 3 just to make sure there were no issues there and it pulled up with no problems at all.

Been playing SWTOR on Windows 10 with no issues. Game seems smoother than it did with 8.1.

Haven't found any yet here. I already like it better than 7 or 8.

Tried Witcher 3. It seems to run fine.

Desktop themes appear to be a bit wonky.

On 7 and 8, you could select or deselect the pictures you wanted to see. I don't see that option anymore.

I like how each monitor has a different picture now and they change 1 monitor at a time. Some people might not like that and might want all 3 with the same picture. There might be an option for this but I am not quite sure where it is.
