Super Mario 64, originally released for the Nintendo 64 console in 1996, now has a 21st century update. The Wii U was Nintendo’s first HD console, meaning there are hardly any Super Mario games presented in high definition. Computer science student Erik Roystan Ross decided to help correct this lack of HD Mario while testing his custom Super Character Controller program by recreating a Super Mario 64 level in high-def splendor.
do want.

Not bad but just not overly impressed. And like others have said, he better be prepared to get fricked by the long dick of Nintendo law here soon

There are high res texture packs that can run in some emulators already, although that's not really HD.

Is he selling it? If not, how is this any different than all of the old game level hacks?
