I have an i5-6500 and I can tell you the stock cooler is perfectly fine.

It idles all for cores around 26-27 degrees C and the hottest I have had it go is 65 degrees C while playing Witcher 3.

thinks for the advice i think im gonna stick with origianl plan and add a 1tb hdd only thing in not sure about is the mother board i found this and like the integrated wifi just not sure if thats the best idea or go with a z170 and get wifi card

I gave you a part list. If you want Wifi, add a wifi card to it.

Z170 would be stupid for this build.
