Emulator vs. Buying old console
So I got a deployment coming up and I'm dying to play some old games for GBA (mostly old Pokemon games :nerd:).

Should I download an emulator, or buy the old thing? Just worried about if I'm computer savvy enough to run the emulator, or if the old games and cartridges will shite out on me. What say the Gaming Board?

It's all up to you. The emulator and rom is the full game, but IMO, it just isn't the same as playing the real deal on a console/hand held.

Emulator then use your PS3 or Xbox 360 controllers via USB to play the games.

Those old games can get expensive.

Yep. I emulate gamecube games on my computer and use my wired xbox 360 controller. Very easy to do.

emulator without question.
btw faster fps will ruin your video game playing.

I recommend roms because they will never go away. I personally don't like having to fool with old gameboy and snes cartriges having their save batteries run out.
