I've been waiting for the consumer version of the Hololens to come out but even if Hololens 2 is the consumer version it looks like it will still be $3k.

I love the idea of not needing hand devices, but it looks like that's still a ways off for the price-point I am sticking to.

I'm looking for something PC-based, versatile, immersive, has plenty of software/titles for it and will be around for a while. The Rift seems to be where I am headed but I would enjoy hearing thoughts on this from those already with VR systems.

Resident Evil 7 is my most unique game experience in my old arse lifetime.

Having said that, I would hold off on the rift unless you see a huge pile of games you want to play.

I bought the PSVR in February of 2017. Haven't had any other game interest me enough to purchase it since 2017. Almost 2 years without another major AAA new release on the PSVR.

Sure there is Skyrim and Fallout 4 but I played those to death. Borderlands 2 is coming out soon. That is the first title to pique my interest since I bought the PSVR.

Most of the haters who are about to enter the thread, have never played VR.

I love it. Took some time to stop getting queasy but it did eventually pass.

There just aren't enough solid new releases to justify the purchase unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket.

Final note, for me it was worth every penny even if I never play another VR game again. VR is absolutely made for Horror.

I have had one for about a year now. It's never been opened. Money well spent IMO.

Nah. I got a good deal on it. Paid $226 for it after the $100 gift card I got with it during Prime Day last year and that included the Oculus Touch in that price. I actually plan on using it soon.

That would be perfect to use with StarCitizen. It should be released any day now...

Recently got an email about the Quest coming out in the spring.

Not sure what you can expect from a wireless system for gaming but it would be pretty awesome for coordinating Revit models with clients.

Update: I was able to get my hands on one over the holidays and test it out.

Because I have a penchant for just going and buying things I want, I can be hard to buy for. My birthday is coming up and the wife has made it clear she's getting me a Rift for it

I got myself a Rift for Christmas. I’m liking it so far.

Beat Saber is fun if you have other people who want to play casually. Your wife will enjoy it too.

I’ve played Subnautica on Rift, it’s really incredible. Way better than on regular PC.

Downloaded a game called Moss, it’s like an immersive puzzle game. Trying it out this weekend, puzzles seem kind of like Legend of Zelda from the previews I’ve seen

Haven’t tried Resident Evil yet, I’m scared from watching a couple YouTube videos of it lol

Blade and Sorcery looks really cool, like a really realistic combat game in the style of Lord of the Rings

Get in there!

I loved every horrifying moment.

I'm thinking of diving back in for another play which would be my 4th time in VR.

Even though I know every jump scare and know when and were the bad guys spawn, it still scares me.
