It depends, did a mirror knight squire get summoned or just an NPC?

ummmmm, assuming an NPC. Does it specify if it is an actual player?

It should tell you if a mirror squire (invading player) is summoned. I don't think it notified me when it summoned an npc. It's much more challenging dodging his lightning attacks when you've got some invading player chasing you around

And they start spamming Warmth. They also have way too much HP.

They're only summoned on ng+ and beyond.

Finally had some PVP success this morning.
Running thru the belfrey in Iron Keep and got invaded by one of the Bell Keepers invaded me. I was on the roof and heard him racing up the ladder trying to sneak me. I waited till he got to the top and took a few quick hacks at him. He retreated and pulled out a bow which I easily dodged. He tried to bait me in to going to the other side where I would be distracted with the normal enemies on the map. I didn't bite.
Jumped off the roof on to the ground and waited for him to follow. Of course he didn't b/c he was a cheeser. Then I get invaded by a second spirit....we start to battle when Mr. Cheese sees his opportunity to sneak attack. The second invader had enough etiquette to back off when he saw Cheese come after me. I dispatched Cheese, looked at the other invader, we bowed and then battled. I was able to take him with literally one hit worth of health remaining
TLDR version: two guys invaded me same time, one a douche cheeser, I killed both

Best PvP experience I've had was before the Rat Vanguard fight. I was picking up some loot when I was inevitably invaded by a ratbro a-hole. He used Chameleon, and my search for him caused me to aggro about half a dozen rats. I run from the rats, with him entail -- I know that I'm fricked and the guy is laughing his arse off at my hopeless antics. I forgot that I had fire storm equipt and use it to kill the rats and in doing so stun him out of Chameleon. I see him and automatically roll behind him and backstab him, insta-killing him.
The other night I was extremely frustrated with Freja, on my CoC run. Predator dickhead spawns right in the bonfire room in Brightstone Cove, and I start wailing on his arse, backstabbing him with a mastodon halberd. I destroyed his arse. He was probably some scrub, but goddamn did it feel good.

Just a few minutes ago I had a nice one. Headed to see McDuff and give him the ember. Trying to get some stuff done and in no mood for PvP. Get invaded...of course. Some dude with a giant great club or whatever it's called. Obviously hoping one-shot me. I crept out the back door at McDuff's, snuck up and got a quick hit on him. Stood around the corner for a second. He walked out looking for me, I popped out and got 4-5 hits and made a detour back thru McDuff's. He comes looking out the door near the bonfire (thinking I've hid again) and I creep up for the finishing backstab
Yea, I know it may not have been the best etiquette, but I just didn't feel like dealing with it at the time

I don't feel bad about anything. PvP in this game is all cheesing - the duel avelyns, sunlight spear spammers, weapons that have insane phantom range. I don't resort to that shite, but I'll stunlock the hell out of you.

I summoned an invader at the Iron Keep bridge, and he immediately started spamming spears. I mean, goddamn, you know I can roll, right? The scrubs have come out of the woodwork in this one.

So you finally got the ember Saint? Still on your first play through? I think I'm nearing the end of my first, not sure though.
I find that I am doing much better in PVP in this one compared to DS1. I still suck but I have killed way more invaders, especially when I get summoned as a grey spirit to fight the Rat people. Usually they suck.

So I was going to roll a sorceress this weekend, but instead decided to continue in NG+ with my main toon. I was getting bored with him being a pure STR build, so I used a soul vessel, and re-spec'd him to be STR/FAITH, and I'm falling in love with the game all over again.

I know. I spent hours trying to beat that fricker on NG. Eventually just gave up. Because frick him. But I've watched tons of videos, and read all the hints. I think I'm ready to try again.
