I want to get a new monitor. 120+ hz refresh and 1MS response.
The best deal i can find is ASUS VG248QE
24" 144Hz 1MS for $239.
Newegg
Going from memory alone most of the black friday sales are on items that aren't exactly top of the line. part of me thinks while there will most definitely be some sales on monitors, very few will meet these specs or be in that range ( there may be a $700 1440 res monitor that's on sale for like $550). What do you think? wait it out?

Iirc newegg has decent deals on bf. But for the most part it has just become a day for sellers to pass off unwanted product at a 'discount'.

I rarely see anything but your standard 60HZ panels go on sale for black friday.

Haven't had any lately but i haven't been on or gaming much. will get a good test with BLOPS tonight and probably a couple hours of Fallout before bed.

If you're asking to be convinced, it's not worth it for a normal price.
If you're going to do something stupid, and buy it, then at least wait until it's cheaper.
shite it's only 18 weeks away. If you've been getting off to porn that's only two pixels wide for this long, you can wait that much longer.

For 160 more bucks you can have 1440 and 3 more inches
From Asus Website.
"It is also about 25% sharper than a generic 27” full HD display, delivering ultra-smooth visuals thanks to 5ms (GTG) response time. "
need 1MS not 5 :D otherwise that's a good price. 1440 will prob destroy my 780 though.

Played any modern games with it lately? What are your settings and frame rates? Just curious how a 780 fares at 1440P these days. A couple of overclocked 980s are just enough to get 1440P/60fps at max settings.
The 780 is firmly a mid-range card these days, so I'm guessing in today's games it's a matter of medium-high settings at 1440p for 60fps vs. high-ultra settings at 1080p for 90+ fps. I might go for the 1440p still--but for someone who primarily plays online shooters, the 1080/higher refresh would be a better use of GPU power.
