Don't rush to TH 7 until you have maxxed out defensive buildings. Because once you hit TH7 you are going to get attacked by people with TH8s and 9s and Barb Kings, etc.

if you've maxed out your defenses the extra walls and defensive turrets with a new town hall level will probably do you good

Yeah we do use groupme actually.
We all know each other, so we decided to keep a smaller clan and not get spammed with requests from people we don't know and end up being dead weight.
