i was using 10 giants, healer, pekka, and rage last night accompanied by numerous barbs
it worked great
this maybe common knowledge by now but when using the rage spell drop it a couple spaces in front of the giants so they walk thru it instead of dropping it right on top of them

I'm going to try the giants/healer combo for awhile, I have used the same loadout for months now, need to switch it up

i've started using it again with more success. just modified it slightly from how i was using it before. i've replaced the barbs with goblins and added a few more giants.
im now using 60 archers, 74 goblins, 10 giants, 6 wall breakers, 2 balloons, and a healer.

I would use less goblins, isn't the theory behind this combo that at the point you would need goblins their is basically no defensive units left and they can run free?

Yea. I'm gonna try less goblins. And probaly add a few more archers. But I do like having more than enough goblins. They help the giants create holes in the walls and they get the resources for me.

I've been using 40/200 goblins with the giant+healer method.
I got so burned earlier trying to raid a chckerboard. I gave him everything I got (3 lightning spells, dragons, clan castle) and he just hammered me.

finished upgrading my TH to level 10
but to search for a fight bumped up to 1000 gold. damn. just started my laboratory upgrading to lvl 8. should be pumping out the BRD in a few days.
this is the current set up i'm using. seems to be doing pretty good.

i have to admit though i raided that base, threw everything i had at it, and only walked away with 70k gold, 69k elixer, and 100DE.
had planned to take an after photo showing off the 3 stars. but was to ashamed at how i did.

Klark I see you jumped to TH9. I'm like a week behind you in upgrades and just wondering how raiding is different from TH8 to TH9 for you, and if I'm better off maxing out at TH 8 or going ahead and jumping to TH9. Thanks

there is definitely a difference i've found.
i hardly ever see the 350k+ each bases anymore.
I'm generally spending 10-20k searching, 750 a pop, to find a base with 150k+ each.
i would suggest maxing out everything except AA, TH, and walls before making the jump.
get your walls to Purple.
it's just too hard to find quality bases to raid.
if you do make the jump. use the 9 days to completely fill your storage so you can go ahead and start your 2 Xbows and upgrade your Research Lab once it finishes.
also, make sure you have 3 each maxed out storages.
