BF3 Tehran Highway: Getting up to the overpass=Cheating?

Didnt know this was possible.

Its definitely cheesing, but not cheating really. Until DICE fixes it (along with USAS) I just work around it. Less people for me to deal with at the objectives.

i have gotten a few that get too close to the edge with my 320 launcher but thats it. i tried mortars once but there was usually another overpass in the way on its trajectory up

I dont think it's cheating, it's just sniping. Yes, its a funky arse way to get on top of an overpass, but in real life snipers shoot from higher elevations all the time.

When I'm in the mood to snipe, I use the MAV elevator to get on top of buildings to wreck shop. Is it cheating/cheesing, i dont think so, its sniping. Im covering my team to take objectives and defending captured flags. If im not using my MAV to get on top of a building, Im just going to get a helicopter to insert me wherever/whichever building i want or parachute on a building using the mobile spawns.

If I wanted a run and gun type game I would go play COD. BF3 is more strategy and I wish people would quit thinking of sniping as camping. It's fricking sniping. I cant run around with a bolt action rifle with a bi-pod shooting it like a pistol.

Also, you are super vulnerable on top of buildings anyhow, so easy to eliminate pesky snipers on overpasses.

There's a difference between sniping and riding scouting equipment to otherwise inaccessible areas.

It's not like they do anything up there.

You can use a mav to destroy their spawn beacon

But you can cheese to get on top of things that other snipers who don't have the MAV unlocked can't. Check.

I guess I should specify that I am only playing TDM to unlock guns and upgrades and get my k/d back to 1+ after getting murdered my first few hours of playing. So they aren't covering objectives or anything.

If it isn't cheating it's at least cheesing and annoying as hell. Because if I wind up on that map I know I am going to spend 90% of my time shooting rockets up at the overpass. Kind of makes it lame on TDM.
