I recently played xbox on my roommates computer monitor and I enjoyed the experience way more than on a nice 50" TV.

Anyone else do this? I'm considering buying myself a nice monitor to play xbox on for good.

Any recommendations on monitors?

The price range for gaming monitors is pretty big. From 150$ to 750+.

I'd assume you want 4k, which those start around 250$

Absolutely.

I never liked FPS after moving from a tube television to an HD one. I Found out that the input lag is way worse and creating the awkward experience.

Find a monitor with low input lag and you'll be a 100x better.

LINK This has a few.

I switched from a 60 in to like a 20 something inch BenQ monitor like two years ago. Not 4K, but I also just have a normal Xbone and PS4.

For competitive FPS and games like MLB the show where reaction time is crucial, monitors can certainly make a difference.

I think it was like $250 on Amazon.

Something like this would be ideal. Just make sure its' 1ms response time and don't pay for anything over 60hz bc you won't be able to utilize above that. This one is 75hz but you aren't paying a premium for it. No reason to go over 1080 either.

I'll have to try that game next and see how different it is.

I was playing NBA 2k and could tell a complete difference on timing shots.

Im in the market for a 24" 1080p monitor that I'll primarily use for ps4 but will occasionally game on my PC with.

I was looking at this Dell u2414h

Would going with that display, or an IPS panel in general be a bad move. I occasionally like to pay fps on PC so not sure if that Dell monitor would be ideal

Honestly, if you don't primarily play fps competitively you will not notice the difference between 8ms and 1ms. Also, the IPS panel will give you better color accuracy. TN panels are only popular bc of the slightly faster response times. If fps isn't your primary genre, I wouldn't sacrifice picture quality for response time imo.

If you play a lot of multiplayer FPS games like Destiny, CoD, etc... they are much better on a smaller screen like a computer monitor.

For everything else, really doesn't matter.
