Is there a certain brand of ethernet cable that transfers faster than others? As it stands, cables are just cables to me.

I always ran my apartments with Cat6 lines, bought my first house last week, proceeded to buy

line.. turns out, the Cat6's I got for cheap at Dirt cheap, were strung extremely weird.. and they were impossible to splice with anything once you cut them.

The only thing I would look at is insulated versus non-insulated. Reduces some of the interference when running through a house with electrical wires.

Reduces picture noise and such when you are using a cat6-hdmi converter.
