I'm looking to upgrade my PC but I'm not to sure on what to get.
Basically I'm coming to y'all for advise on what i need to upgrade based off my Specs and priority.

Specs: 8GB RAM
Asus p7p55d-e pro Motherboard
Intel Core i5 CPU 760 @ 2.80GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
BFG 650w power supply

I am on a budget so I'm not looking at buying the latest most expensive pieces. Thanks so much.

Titan X.

But seriously, if you have to pick one thing, GPU. Assuming you're wanting to upgrade for gaming performance.

Your CPU is dated, but second priority.

I'm just not willing to spend money on the most expensive. More like medium range

Yeah, I did look that up. It's built by Topower, 480w split rail. It could be worse.

Capacitors are old then, and it may not provide as much power as it used to. 550 Ti isn't demanding so it's not really stressing it. Something like an R9-290 would.

For like $150 you can get a 7950/270x and a decent PSU.

If you can get lucky, you may be able to find something like an i5 2440 (i think thats right) or 3470 for $100, and a mobo would only be around $60.

That would be a hell of an upgrade, but it would require patience and buying used parts.

For that price you're looking at the gtx 660, which is a few steps down from the two I mentioned.

Edit: the gtx 760 is about the equivalent in terms of performance, but that's $140ish. That's the same price as the 280x, though, which stomps the 760

No... For gaming performance, GPU comes first.

You don't need a CPU/mobo now, video card is first priority

That would be a good combo to start on. With a 7950/270x make sure to grab at least a 500w or a 400w+ on that has two 6pin PCI-E cables
