To add to that though, in a roundabout way PC gamers are sucking the same corporation as xbox consolers. Either way Microsoft is making money because, let's be honest, no one seriously games on a Mac.

"Why is there even an argument?"
Because some people don't know how to build a good PC and don't want to take the time to learn. To some people, it's not just legos. The first time I built a PC it took me hours to figure out and get it right. I watched a 20 minute video on how to put the parts together but it's still not that simple. Especially for someone who has never done it before.
Plus with PC's you have to be up to date on what kind of hardware/software will be able to run certain games well at their highest quality. Nobody wants to play Skyrim on medium settings. With a console, you don't have to worry about any of those things. You buy it, plug it in, and whatever games come out you are able to play at the same settings as everyone else. It's not that hard to understand why people prefer consoles over PCs. I'm not sure why Master Race people can't understand this.
ETA: I have recently seen the light and PC gaming is amazing. But the other people who game on PCs that are asshats about being a PC gamer are annoying. When someone says "I don't know how to build a PC" the only answer they get is something condescending like "It's like legos. A 5 year old can do it. You can't put something together that a 5 year old can?"

Man until I built my PC last summer the only games I could play on my Mac were Kerbal Space Program, The Sims 3 (and it even had some issues), and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. If you want to game on a computer, I highly recommend getting a PC. The first Steam sale I was a part of on my new gaming desktop nearly sent me into bankruptcy

I game on both. Sometimes I just like sitting back on my couch and resting a controller on my lap while playing a game. Also makes it easier for friends or family to join me on the couch to watch or play. The larger screen is also nice.
The only parts of PC gaming that I enjoy more are the better graphics and mod community.
I'll always continue to use both into the future. Just depends what I'm into.

Nah, I really only wanted Left 4 Dead b/c I've never owned an XBox. My brother was all about Halo and many of my friends were too but literately the only game on the 360 I ever wanted was L4D. Halo has always played waaaay too slow for me to get into as I prefer faster shooters like Unreal, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, Counterstrike etc.
Usually the only other non console games I play are Civ and Sim City (plus a few older FPS games) but since I haven't cared for the more recent iterations I never really needed a gaming rig.
TBH I've really always been a Nintendo gamer first and everything else second. Since the original 8-bit NES the only time I didn't have the Nintendo system as my initial main system was the N64 b/c I was one of the few people who bought (and actually liked) an Atari Jaguar.

I seem to recall offering you endless amounts of help, and ultimately you went on your own.

I agree. It was actually an 8 year old on Youtube who convinced me that you did need to put a bit of pressure on the clasp to close the CPU.
I was positive I was going to shatter the MB but that kid set me straight.

Same. Nintendo is the TRUE master race

This is bullshite. There is always tons of helpful people on this board and LSUToo has spent hours of his time helping people on and off the board. There are also whole subreddits dedicated to PC gaming and one of them is very helpful with builds and tech help to people looking to get into it.
Other than that, everything else is just tongue in cheek trolling not unlike this thread that made you feel like you needed to write a 1000 word essay as a response to.
