Just think of how powerful the fierce deity mask is if Link is able to destroy Majora so easily.
Remember how easy it is to beat Majora when you have the FDM vs. when you don't?
Eiji Aonuma is quoted as saying that the FDM is the culmination of all Termina's anger, sorrow and emotion. I mean you just make Majora's Mask look like such a little bitch when you're playing as the FDM.
It's crazy to think what the Hero of Time went through in his lifetime.
- Saves an entire kingdom that never even recognizes him in the timeline he's sent to (which is really a dick move by future Zelda given the fact that the very action she took led to the events of Majora's Mask.
- Loses his best friend to which he journeys to find, only for the events mentioned below to happen to him on his way.
- Saves a practically fake world devastated by time and Majora, only to have to depart it and never be totally recognized AGAIN.
I don't think he died in that forest though. Twilight Princess Link is supposedly a BLOOD descendant of the HOT, meaning that unless he had some random fairy baby momma in the forest that he totally left to take care of the somebitch, he most likely got out alive and had a baby with Malon. One can only ascertain that this is a logical conclusion based on the fact that TP link is a farmhand who ALSO grows up in a forest area.
Just my 2 cents.

For some reason I feel I should want to play these games but my limited knowledge of console game and the mechanics make me wonder what is so great about them. Are the story lines that good?

They are pretty light on story in game really. You will probably be fine passing. Some of them hold up well but they will never have the impact they once had.

Shovel Knight

Mario Maker is new IP.
At least in their mind.

quote:As Giant Bomb mentioned in their GOTY podcasts, it could be seen as one if you consider it the "Maker" series. That's a bit of a stretch in my mind but I do hope it leads to "Metroid Maker" or maybe "Legend of Zelda Maker". If Nintendo refuses to make a new Metroid game, give the community the tools to do it.

Shovel Knight was definitely a kickstarter

Would be weird if they did being that it is on all platforms.
Really cool game though. Reminded me of so many games. Especially Zelda 2.

No, Zelda is an all time great but the stories are not that great.
You won't get all the drama in it that some of the post are implying. Even if what they say is happening is technically true.
But you should play them, all of them. My favorite series as a youth and still in my top 10.

For what is worth WW is the worst one for me.
Not that it was a bad game. I enjoyed it.
I just was not a fan of the sailing or art design.

I really don't think TP is all that dark. Yes, it looks dark, but what about the feel? Zant seems like he is dark, but is nothing but an over-the-top crybaby. You don't see a man murdered for defending his children or a cheerful girl being lobotomized. It's just it looks dark, and really al tension in the story is gone in the second half.

Wind Waker is one of my favorite Zelda's. In my top 3 or 4 and I like it more than Twilight Princess. However, I do want to play this HD remake to see if my opinion changes because I played TP on the Wii with the "waggle" controls.
I love Wind Waker's art style, which still looks great today, and my issues with TP had nothing to do with how "dark" it is. TP takes too long to really open up and get going and the second half of the game ruins the villain they set up earlier. I also prefer Wind Waker's final boss battle.
Regardless, TP is a good game and I look forward to eventually replaying it with a controller and improved graphics.
