Truth.

Majora is the best villain of the Zelda universe. Ganon has nothing on him.

Majora is more of an entity though. He's like the culmination of pure evil. Ganon is an actual being. Apples and oranges, IMO.

I really think he might be the best video game villain ever, and certainly the most underrated. Ridiculously competent and cruel. I can't think of a more evil video game character on the top of my head.

It's a simple comparison: Ganondorf is Hitler; Majora is Satan.

Idk, lore-wise I like Ganondorf's character and what he brings. Like if every Zelda from here on out was in OoT's timeline, I'd be happy as a mofo. I think that's why I like TP so much. It's in the same timeline.

That being said, I'm in no way saying Majora wasn't a fantastic villian. MM was a great game. I just LOVE OoT's story.

Yep. Hitler may be an evil man, but he is no Satan.

I think Ganondorf was at his best in Wind Waker. That's when he felt like a real character and not just being evil for the sake of evil. He's a deep character in that game and you start to feel bad for him actually.

I prefer the tension of MM, but that's what puts a lot of people off on the game. Majora's presence is always seen and felt in the game. You can't get away from him. He doesn't wait on top of a tower waiting for the hero to kill him. He ruthlessly fricks with everyone just because he finds it fun. You can not escape him, while Ganondorf seems to minimally affect most of the day to day lives of the residents of Hyrule.

Idk man. The transition of the world from child to adult is pretty drastic. I still remember the feeling I got when I walked out of the Temple of Time as an adult and saw the market for the first time.

Oh yeah, one of the most memorable sequences in gaming. The problem was those zombies weren't the citizens as far as we know. They were all fine in Karkariko Village. That seems to be the biggest result of his actions... that and killing the King.

Majora destroys the world dozens of times before you manage to save it once. Link only succeeds in one time line. Majora wins in all the others.

That's true. He didn't poison an entire village for shits and giggles, though.

Both these guys are evil as hell. Can't think of worse, but thought Kefka was up there. Never understood why Sepiroth was so popular when Kefka was 1000x the antagonist.

So did Majora. Only time/dimensional travel could stop him.

They both lost in the end though.

He did much worse.

He doesn't just kill an entire city, he psychologically and physically tortures every one in it...and then kills them all by crashing the moon into the planet.

Dude is a dick.

He does poison the water though.

He actually did do that as well. I typed this out before and found it, but here's all the shite Majora did:

1) Destroys the world and everyone in it dozens of times before Link is able to stop him.
2) Possesses a lonely and frightened child.
3) Locks away the child's friends who are the only ones who can possibly stop him.
4) Rips apart a marriage by transfiguring a young man into a boy.
5) Murders a boy in front of his father.
6) Transfigures a boy into a plant.
7) Steals property and pawns it off.
8) Cripples an old woman leaving her to die alone.
10) Poisons the water supply of a local economy.
11) Destroys all the Great Fairies of the area.
12) Abducts a princess and leaves the blame to another, which results in him getting lynched.
13) Causes a brutal winter leaving many to die and starve.
14) Abducts a girl and her cattle and then lobotomizes her.
15) Warms the ocean killing anything not hostile that lived there.
16) Abducted a woman's children and then murders the father who tries to stop him.
17) Transfigures a father into a mindless monster, leaving his 5 year old daughter to look after him.
18) Forms a hell for the undead to where they will never be able to move on even after he's destroyed the world.

Even the Joker I think would be disturbed by all this and want to call it a night. Just an absolute monster on all fronts. I'm not as familiar with Kefka, but he does look and sound incredibly disturbing as well.

Kefka is of a somewhat similar mindset.

The most evil of villains are those who's sole purpose is death and destruction. There is very little reason. There is no endgame beyond destruction.

Ganon's weakness, in comparison to these villains, is his wish to rule over Hyrule, not destroy it.

Best laugh ever. That might be what I remember most about Kefka.
