Been making the standard 2oz Rye Whisky / 2-3 splashes of angasturo bitters / 2 splashes of orange bitters / 2 teaspoons of simple syrup / spritz of orange peel.

Any alternate recipes I should try? Brown sugar? Different bitters? Muddled sugar cubes instead of simple syrup

The OF is the house cocktail at Barrel Proof on magazine. They use Old Grandad bonded, about 6 dashes of Angustora bitters, simple syrup and the orange peel spritz. It’s spicier and great for a change. My son makes this at home when we ask him to make an OF.

I like the standard 2 oz of bourbon or rye with 3 dashes of each peychauds and orange bitters, simple syrup and a luxardo cherry

In the winter I’ve substituted maple syrup for simple and used walnut bitters.

Think I’m gonna make some brown sugar simple syrup and try that in one just to compare to what I’ve been doing. I love them as is but just wanted to see if anyone really loves a variation.

I’ve used brown sugar ss, Demerara ss, agave nectar, maple syrup, amaretto, frangelico, and even orgeat. Since I only use a little less than a teaspoon, the difference is very slight. Regular ss is my go-to.

4 ounces of Woodford Reserve
1 eye dropper of Woodford Spiced Cherry Bitters (if only half full, use 2 halves)
1.5 ounces of Finest Call Simple Syrup
Stir with ice and pour over single large cube of ice with 2 Luxardo cherries and splash a teaspoon Luxardo cherry juice over the ice.
Never had one person turn this down.
Cheers.

You realize how bad that looks on the person that gives you personal information about me, right?

2 oz rye
4-5 ang bitters
1-2 dash craft cocktail experiment bitters
.5 oz simple
Express orange peel and toss in with cocktail cherry

That's my go to, but I also play with smoking them as well as utilizing chocolate/spiced cheery and orange bitters. It's crazy how many directions you can take them
