I will be getting back into working out. Mostly cardio stuff with some light weight, high rep lifting.

depending on when you are working out, you probably shouldnt skip too many meals.

if it were me, if you skip breakfast, make sure and eat lunch. If you skip lunch, have a late breakfast.

You dont want to overeat come dinner. With this diet, you'll prob feel like shite for 7-10 days. But as others have said, you get quite the energy boost after that. Just stick with it for 30 days. You'll love the results

Gotcha. I have a really hard time losing weight when lifting despite calorie intake. I'd just focus on cardio.

That's cause you just said you eat 2000 calories all in one sitting. That's not the smartest. Your body can only handle so many calories at a time. You know what happens to the remaining calories? It's stored as fat for later use.

Appreciate the advice. Hoping to knock off some weight and stick with it after the month is over.

This has to be a lifestyle change. You looking so forward to a cheat day and planning to blow it on some huge pasta and cheese concoction shows you'll be back on this "diet" a year from now when those 34's are no longer loose. Basically this is paleo dressed up with another name.

But you have to have a cheat meal of pasta, so for me I would make a baked ziti loaded with meat sauce and covered by mounds of cheese.

I'm reading the book right now for second time, about to start it again in a week.

they want to be all natural, but if I can grow it in my garden, I should be able to eat it in any diet IMO

Was listening to a podcast the other day that said the problem is some people have allergic reactions to some of the components of a legume and this can cause this particular food to be "bad" for them. Its on a person by person basis. Some eat them with no issues and others get bloated. Personally I can survive without them so I just avoid.

I didn't say that at all. I have about 300 calories throughout the morning, 600 around lunch, and 6-800 around 6:30.

I would love to see the research on this, do you have a link? I am a serious nerd on studies and love to read them.

We are about to do whole30 after mardis gras. I can't wait because I mostly eat like this anyway. The gf is always eating bread and cheerios and other crap that she doesn't need. The best part is this was her idea.

I think processed food is the most evil thing. I believe Type 2 diabetes is the body's natural way of trying to handle the glucose overload that we are constantly putting on our bodies.

Did you read the book? That's one of the main theories. 3 square meals a day. I'd read the book before you do the diet especially if you like the studies and stuff. It was fascinating for me.

I do not agree with your conclusion.

That's fine. I still think the ziti route is the way to go.

Nope, but we have it. I've been scouring it for receipes instead.

I've gone from eating 3 meals a day, 4-5,000 calories a day (not fun), fasting for 2-3 days at a time, to straight carnivore for 2 months. I'm back to 2-3 large meals a day to help gain some weight.

Having your body run on fats is the way to go. No more crashes or headaches. If you aren't hungry, skip meals and move on with life. While fasting, I was shocked at the free time I had by not cooking.

Day 3 and I could eat 3 loafs of bread right now from Superior Steakhouse or Carrabba's. Bread is really the only thing I am having a bad craving for.

ETA: I will let this thread die if updates aren't welcome.

Bread is one of those things i don't get. Seems like filler for the most part and just a necessary evil for a hamburger or poboy. I still have not had a piece, and I was done on the 30th.

I, for one, am interested. Besides, you never know when new people may become interested.

I could sit with a whole loaf of warm French bread and oil/balsamic vinegar and eat the whole thing. Real good bread and butter gets me too. Carb's are my worst enemy with this type of dieting.

I know that I will not be able to stick to this diet 100% with the specific oils and things but I will not divert from the actual food part. I have two young ones and some of the Whole30 is too specific for my time needs. That said, I will not eat dairy, grains, beans, etc. until its over. Will also probably throw in a glass of wine or two over the weekends. Reading through some of the blogs on Whole30, some of those folks are too serious about it.

ETA: I have to travel for work about once a month for a night or two and know that it will be too tough on the specifics. Planning on sticking to it as best as I possibly can.
