you could also prob eat beans too.

Whole 30 is the best "diet plan" out there. In a land full of gimmicks, its one of the few with sustainability

I will after this month. I was never a big bean eater anyway. I'll just not avoid a dish simply because it has beans-like chili or southwest salads.

I'm no nutrition and fitness guru, but I have done a good bit of research and dieted a couple times in my life.

This thing overall doesn't look that bad, but there are some unnecessary restrictions, to me. Dairy, artificial sweeteners, whole grains, legumes are not bad in moderation.

My current diet, and my last (lost 28 lbs) includes alcohol, you just have to allow for it by making some other adjustments on days you drink, and keeping your macros otherwise in place.

What's the real science on things like Splenda? Assume three packets every day.

Grains get overeaten by me out of convenience and laziness more than actual desire.

Artificial sweeteners can trigger the same adverse body reaction that sugar can in terms of getting fat.

I don't remember your aeropress thread too well, but didn't you say that you were using only Community coffee? I really would recommend exploring the wider world of better coffee beans.

Yes, but I really really love Community. Given that, I would not even know where to start. Better? haha.

Grains definitely take a backseat to lean protien, fibrous vegetables, yogurt. Which is why this Whole30 seems like a decent plan, because it gets you focused on the items that should be making up the majority of your diet and intake. Its just that the other items can follow in moderation. If you are still creating an energy imbalance, your body will use its stored tissue as energy, its just what you feed it otherwise helps tell it what to use (i.e. Fat instead of muscle, connective tissue)

This sounds very similar to the Sugerbusters diet that the doctor from New Orleans wrote.
I did that back in 98 or so and once your body gets used to the dietary changes the weight flies off

Not required. You stopped too soon. Not that you would be serious about this anyway.

While YOU might not be able to taste it, I can assure you your body knows the difference between omega-6 and omega-3 fats, and that their ratios matter.

Nothing like Sugarbusters, which at the time was buying into the "whole grain" & "reduced fat" phenomenon of the 90's. Whole 30 is quite the opposite. No grains at all, and it promotes full fat foods which are actually good for the body

Do you find it really difficult? Are you satisfied throughout the day?

Looking through the information, some of my favorite "healthy" foods aren't allowed (barley, quinoa, beans, yogurt, etc.). These have always been the items I look forward to the most when eating healthy because they are filling.

I went through a period of never being hungry, so being hungry a lot is welcome. Makes me feel like I am doing well.

I could never eat any of those again and be very happy. In fact, I find quinoa disgusting. Barley? I thought that was just for beer and horses

Trader joe's has a decent selection that is reasonably priced.

If you are in Baton Rouge go to Garden District and get some of theirs. They roast in House, very good coffee.

To me, CC's is good coffee for the office but a very poor product to be drinking at home. Especially if you are using an aero press. Spend a few extra dollars a bag and you get a much better product.

I mean eating well is difficult for most people, but in terms of "diets", it's definitely sustainable. I don't follow it 100% strict, I eat some carbs (sweet potatoes mainly) because my workout allows it, I'll eat beans on occasion, and cheese every once in a while.

And yes i feel full as most of the food I eat is pretty dense. Meat, veggies & , eggs make up most of my diet.

They taste like candy at this point. Onions go well with them which is something i would never have guessed.
