Looks like the other thread got anchored, so here is what I posted there:

I am not actually abiding by every rule. My wife is in a group and is doing it right. I thought I'd do it with her for support.

Cheats: I couldn't last with the alcohol and I have had salad dressing twice that I know was not compliant. I have basically done everything else. I may have had some non-compliant bacon and one link of sausage.

This has been great for me. I did not weigh before like I should have, but I'm wearing pants I have not worn in 5 years. I was one of those 35s that could never find the right fit. 34 was uncomfortable and 36s needed to be cinched. I am already a true to loose 34 now. I'd like to get to the point where I do not even need to try on 34s and to be able to wear some 33s. I doubt 32 is in my future.

I generally feel better. I especially felt better for the time when I was not drinking. I have reduced my drinking a good bit, and the no soda thing has kept me off of Bourbon for the most part. Speaking of, Bourbon/water tastes better now than it ever has, and I'll probably never have a Bourbon/Sprite or Old Fashioned ever again.

For whatever reason, I do not even care about the sweets thing. That's not going to be something I jump into when it's over. I just don't care.

Basically everything tastes better now. Especially things that were sorta sweet before. Sweet potatoes are almost too sweet for me to eat. Berries are amazing.

The bad.

Coffee still tastes like arse. Coconut milk has been my savior. I really am not sure what I'll do when this is over, but I miss Splenda more than anything else. Even more than cheese, pasta and rice. I may research the bad effects of it or just switch to Stevia. Any of you with an opinion, feel free to provide it.

Lunch. Luch sucks. I used to eat out a lot. I basically can't here. Moe's or BBQ only I think. Then, no sides. I am not one top pack a lunch, and I really don't like going home. I have gotten by, but I am not happy about it.

What shall I have Sunday? I'm thinking the cheesiest pasta dish I can find somewhere. Sucks that our anniversary is Saturday, and we can't go to Verona or Bellino's.

Off top of my head, and I did not read the book. I'll post a pic in a few minutes.

No:
grains or things made from them
sugars, natural or artificial
dairy-use ghee instead of butter
alcohol-yeah, I didn't make it
additives. Example-we couldn't use Tony's, but could use Slap Your Moma.
beans or legumes other than green beans
soy
artificial anything

Drink better coffee. Get a French press and you will slowly go to black.

You may have seen my thread on the Aeropress. Is it better? Sure. Did it make a difference for me? No.

I know two people who have done this and both dropped 30 pounds like it was nothing.

They both couldn't believe how different (better) they felt after doing this program.

It was amazing for more so than my wife, as she had already started eating way healthier than me well before we started. My hope is to stay close to this, but I can't see doing it that strictly forever. I simply enjoy eating out too much to keep this up.

So, it's only meant to be a 30 day type deal to shed a few pounds?

Yikes, I doubt the founders would agree with that. My thought is, it's something to help you jump start a new way of thinking about food and eating. There's no point to it if you are going to get right back into a diet consisting of lots of grains/carbs/sugars and processed foods.

I was just asking.
I get cutting out all the sugar and starch, but some of the other stuff would be hard.

Just wondering how long you'd be doing that type of diet.

I still can't get over the no legumes part of these diets

they want to be all natural, but if I can grow it in my garden, I should be able to eat it in any diet IMO

I agree. It's about whether or not these so called dangers are real or not. I didn't science the shite out of it.

My paleo friends are adamant about dairy. I think they are FOS. I don't really know the truth.

Cold turkey after 40 years of sweetener was just tough as hell. It went from my favorite beverage of any day to a real chore.

The tough part is not drinking any alcohol.

I could probably do this except for this little part

Do it and drink. I did, and I still benefitted.
